I have finally managed to purchase a new computer and will be using the Asus Xonar DX2 with my Logitech Z5500.

I can't wait to test it out thoroughly on Wednesday.

actually, ive got that problem. the unit is actually less than a month old.
ive read about it before as well.

first it was flickering, and couple of days ago it appeared that the light on one side had died.
and now, its completely gone. i can read the text, but there's no light.

is there a fix.. or should i get it replaced? should be covered by the warranty right?

Mine is bout more then a year's old. I've read online that logitech extended the warranty to 2 years for those staying in the EU and US. And can be replaced anyway if you are you of warranty, provided you send your busted control unit to them.

Only problem now is how do I claim up over here? I doubt my warranty is extended and I'm not so sure bout RMA-ing with logitech over such a problem.

I suppose yours would be fine to warranty claim since yours is only a month old.

IMO, the Z5450 looks a lot sleeker than the Z5500..
but.. am i right to say that the 5450's woofer is a bandpass woofer?
users, how's the performance for that woofer?

if it blinks consistent with the sub, (where in the 1st place it shouldnt) then it shows the power supply for the system is not stable enough. if this is true, that can be the reason why the back lite went dead after sometime. imo

There's something wrong with my control pod for the Logitech Z5500, I could not switch it on after the blackout which happened earlier.

My gut is that the fuse has blown. I hope it is just a blown fuse as I really don't want to buy a new set due to this.

I have been using this speakers since 2007, I don't think it is under warranty anymore.
