QUOTE(iman_210 @ Jan 13 2011, 10:45 AM) when I ask a friend of mine the exact same question.he said because he is a sport photographer where every moment is necessary so he just burst it. guys. I wonder why lens with bigger aperture consider as fast lens. e.g 50mm 1.4 <- Nikon called it fast prime. does a bigger aperture has any effect on focusing speed?? |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Jan 13 2011, 12:19 PM) isn't that faster focusing speed?QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 13 2011, 02:05 PM) less light harder focus?isn't it more logical to say less light faster focus? sorry noob. anyway why tamron 1750 focusing speed is worse than 1855 nikkor? even tamron has a bigger aperture |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 13 2011, 02:23 PM) Like I said, fast means BIG aperture. f/1.4 you can use 1/200, f/2.8 you probably can use 1/50 only. so the bigger aperture doesn't determine focusing speed isn't it? Thanks for the clarification. This is the what 'fast' define. And another thing to note is that, with f/1.4 lens, the DOF is shallow for the focus system to acquire as compared to a f/2.8 lens. Besides, Tamron 1750 is well known as a slowpoke lens in focusing especially low light. QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Jan 13 2011, 05:08 PM) U juz haven get into the situation, where that damn tamron can't lock focus!! hahaa..... in-out-in-out-in-out....... my both lenses 1855 and 35 have experience can't lock focus.anywayz how's ur 35mm focusing speed compared to 18-55mm? 1855 can't lock focus in my campus indoor event. honestly less light only some side light is turned on by my campus. freaking frustrated because I thought my lens is spoiled ady back then. (Noob in photography where my 35mm can't focus in super dark room with some glowing accessory on the wall. I guess the glowing thing is not bright enough.. Hmm Added on January 13, 2011, 5:39 pm QUOTE(iman_210 @ Jan 13 2011, 05:20 PM) burst but cn the sensor and lens cope? i mean u r just bursting without composing right? he did composing if not mistaken. the result is good as well.imagine those days with film camera how do they capture sports photography... I've set to --, but it seems the pop up flash still impacts the end result of the subject lighting(lights the subject from front when i place my slave speedlight on the left). Anybody here can share some experience? Added on January 14, 2011, 1:56 pmany recommendation of camera strap else than crumpler? it doesn't looks professional if use crumpler This post has been edited by aldosoesilo: Jan 14 2011, 01:56 PM |

it will be great to have both. it won't use a convenient strap but looks like kid's toy. do you get what I am saying?? and strap doesn't have any relation with camera anyway. and I don't get it why you seems so sensitive when I say professional looks. |

can you please send me the event details etc etc. and I will give you the response. I know it is tiring but for learning purpose why not. anyway I am not going to be the main photographer. I am just shooting around learning and learning is that okay with you? since I have no experience and chance of doing weeding photography at all. QUOTE(shinjun @ Jan 17 2011, 03:03 PM) QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Jan 17 2011, 03:04 PM) i've got smth to say here. u need to know what you want to shoot first. 70-200 on a DX would be more tele than on a FX. obviously u still get the sharpness and the f/2.8. in fact, u get more corner sharpness than on the FX coz it's just using the center of the lens. yeah DX will make it super-tele instead of tele isn't it? as it give 1.5 crop factor.now u'll need to decide whether you need that range. who knows u might need a UWA instead of a rather tele lens? I am thinking to have tele lens for candid shooting and some event like motor GP and football or sometimes when model hired! |
