QUOTE(Oxburg @ Feb 11 2011, 04:10 PM) 3 times, 1st was a 1 feet, the last 2 was a 2 feet tank... Before you start, best if you stop feeding for a few days and starve the fauna first cause they will shit a lot during the move because of the stress, it'll contaminate the water they are in and decrease their chance of survival. 1st drain half the tank and pack your filter, all the accessories, lightings, bio media and fill the buckets with the tank water 2nd take out all the plants, trim them and put in bucket no 1, leaving only the gravel or soil. 3rd catch all the fauna and put them in bucket no 2. 4th drain all the water and put the gravel or soil into bucket no 3, make sure to get strong buckets cause the substrate weights a tonne. If your using gravel, this would be a very good time to rinse and clean them throughly. 5th clean tank. Finish... I moved my 2 feet like that for an 8 hour trip from Klang to Kuala Terengganu... I had 2 german blue ram, 12 pink danios and 2 ottos if I remembered correctly. No fish casualty during the move One thing you need to remember is that the more active the fish the less likely they will survive. Cause I had 70% casualty of tiger barbs on my last move which onl took 5 hours... Another is that since they will be transported in very little water, you need to watch out for the fluctuation in temperature which can kill the fauna. If you have the man power to manage the heavy lifting of your tank with all the hardscape and flora inside you can try keeping the scape and moving the whole tank...
Others have experience moving whole aquascape, especially for competitions like what they did during aquafair last year. But I don't know how they did it... |

Its not silicon aquarium la, its acrylic aquarium...
Pros Acrylic = light, cheap Glass = scratch resistant, stays clear forever Cons Acrylic = easily scratched, gradually becomes blurr over time like fogging up like that Glass = heavy, cost more >90% of the people here use glass aquarium IME |

You won't be the first one to do that cause I read it before somewhere, but IMHO you will need to consider the nitrate build up from the roting roots and whether your tank can handle it or not, especially if you've got sensitive species in your tank such as CRS. Thank you so much BTW if I wanna change the plant type but it's already grown so can i just cut the plant left the root inside the soil and plant with new plant? And make sure you cut deep enough or the plant will just regrow from whats left of itself... |
