I have a very small tank. I think it's about 1 feet plus. It's possible to turn it to planted aquarium? What is the average size of tank required? The costing to set up a small planted aquarium? Maintenance cost and stuff? Can I still keep fishes like guppy inside those aquarium? Thanks.

ermm... did the water pass thru the check valve ?? meaning enter the other end, if no then should be ok

personally i tie the check valve at higher level, higher than my tank water level =D

nop..but i put 2 check valve after notice the water will backflow so fast,1st check valve is transparent now with water can act as bubble counter already sweat.gif ,2nd check valve is brass type

Laast time i tot mine was stainless steel. But after sometime it starts to rust as well. Hmm.

Ohya, anyone of u guys using co2 diffuser where it sucks in water when co2 solenoid is switched off. Everytime i hav to drain off the water from diffuser or else it will start flooding the vacuum tube n check valve.

yupe.. those stainless steel mesh that plant seller claims are not 100% stainless steel.. they will get rush as time passed.. lolx

my diffuser suck in water too, the water will back flow until check valve.. so every morning when i turn on co2 for first time, need to open more to push all the water back to tank =.=

@bro cata,
that is unavoidable.. All my glass diffusers act this way.. no matter how good the check valve is.

Law of physics haha

i just let the gas slowly build up & push it out take around 10min i guess.

Some update:
DIY fan to bring temp down 26C previously 28~29.
Im putting on 55watt for 16L to boost my HC,hope it will carpet instead growing up.
No fert added yet, havent buy any..will the amazonia nutrient be enough for the mean time?

get 2 tank separator holder from any LFS and fasten the fan with cable tie and it can be fit nicely on your tank.I reverse the separator so it look nicer from the front. Im using coolermaster 120mm silent fan. The separator cost around RM1~2 leftover from my previous 2feet.The fan range RM20~25 only check out sales thread on computer hardware.Even though the fan rated as 12v DC,i use an unwanted powersupply from my modem rating 9v to power it.

ciohbu:I bought the 55w from a forumer in mac,he sold his solenoid tank to me too,I am damn lucky bought it very cheap..

oic, so how to position the fan ? sucking air from water or blowing cooler air to water ... which one is more efficient ?

blowing will be better, I position mine just like in picture. Go for 120mm fan if you can, less noise and more air can go through. I did an experiment on 80mm high CFM fan, make noisy sound that can be notice 3m away, alot of water agitation hence water evaporates faster than using 120mm fan. Outcome of using 120mm, same temp & water evaporate less.

@ hvaly, of course blowing on the water, but note that u need to top up water more frequent after that.. lolx.. the water level drop much faster than without fan

@ Betta, argh... i am looking to upgrade my lightning too ... yupe..9v will work too, just that won't get optimum rpm / fan speed tongue.gif
