i love htc widget too...
till now, i don't have any mail replacement widget. icon got la  but it nice to change the environment once in a while.... I dun like HTC stock widget. The HTC stock homescreen like using a lot of RAM or processor because I feel so lag and slow. I prefer to go to the stock Android or something like Motorola Droid, the white status bar. I am using LauncherPro as my home screen. Everything seems faster and not that "laggy". And using the beautiful widgets to replace the HTC Sense Clock+Weather widgets. lol.
