I've just upgraded my N97 mini with the latest update. But it involve some tweaking. you see, Malaysian version of N97 Mini are not entitled to the latest update. it still stick to it's original v10.0.0.20. So i change the Product Number to United kingdom one and sure enough i got the latest update. all seem's well at first. The biggest issue i have before is whenever i talk to someone through the phone, the sound is crappy. it's full of interference and i can barely make out a word what the people in the other side say especially in a noisy environment. Now after the update, the sound is crystal clear. i even have to tune down the volume to prevent abuse to my ear. i'm very happy, until i try to access mobile internet via Maxis 3G WAP. it say's there "Unknown Reply". fortunately it doesnt affect the phone function as a 3G modem. Now i know why the update doesn't release in Malaysia. But this is very unfair to the Nokia customers. Even if the update are not compatible with Malaysia, the least Nokia can do is to provide a fix for the more pressing issue like the one i mentioned above.

this is not true, we are already having v12, and i'm using it for almost 3-4 months already....

nokia malaysia do provide v12 FW for all n97 mini user provided u got the malaysia set...

Wat set u using ?

Use NAVIFIRM and download the latest version also can

I am interested in buying a new N97 mini now. Is it still really expensive? Are there any known serious problems?

Been using N97 mini [Zitron set] for 6 months, overall the phone is ok, but at times the performance will be a bit sluggish, opening to many apps, for example, browser, music, notes tend to make the phone unresponsive, thus it will auto restart. I did all the updates but still the same issue. and yeah, updating the phone using Ovi suites or OTA does not detect that Firmware v12.0.0.110 is available for me too. Probably you're better off buying N8 or C7

mine stuck at v11 and i dont even bother to update

i asked Nokia Care Centre personnel there, if no lag or problems, better dun update firmware, coz there's a possibility that the new firmware may cause problem, it varies between individual phone unit

but v12 got no problem so far... have been using it for more than 4-5 months...

u stuck at v11 coz ur product code still not supported for update...my n97 mini right now got more free ram with latest update

mine ori zitron set, go nokia centre sure can

just mine no laggy/hang, therefore to me, no nid update oso can

its good for u then..i oso have seen sumone update their nokia 5800 and suddenly the performance become bad...so its like u said if no problem just stick to that firmware...

so what the nokia centre employee told me is true.. im somewhat sceptical bout it, now not anymore..

just check my n97 mini, zitron set.. its v.10 too.. then i click check updates, it says no update.. hmm, i wonder why?

it happen... i think for the 1st time update,u have to go NCC to update... mayb at the 1st time,the setting for server/etc wasnt being set so it always said no new FW... like mine,it always said v11 was the lastest so i went to NCC n get it updated...

its not that there is no update for u...that bcoz ur product code is currently not acknowledge by the region for the update...the only way for u to update is by going to NCC or flash it...or if u can be patient enough to wait 4 ur product code to be acknowledge.just wait... ....but i think nokia will never going to release new update for mini...coz it seems they want to focus on symbian^3...
