I've just upgraded my N97 mini with the latest update. But it involve some tweaking. you see, Malaysian version of N97 Mini are not entitled to the latest update. it still stick to it's original v10.0.0.20. So i change the Product Number to United kingdom one and sure enough i got the latest update. all seem's well at first. The biggest issue i have before is whenever i talk to someone through the phone, the sound is crappy. it's full of interference and i can barely make out a word what the people in the other side say especially in a noisy environment. Now after the update, the sound is crystal clear. i even have to tune down the volume to prevent abuse to my ear. i'm very happy, until i try to access mobile internet via Maxis 3G WAP. it say's there "Unknown Reply". fortunately it doesnt affect the phone function as a 3G modem. Now i know why the update doesn't release in Malaysia. But this is very unfair to the Nokia customers. Even if the update are not compatible with Malaysia, the least Nokia can do is to provide a fix for the more pressing issue like the one i mentioned above.

I am interested in buying a new N97 mini now. Is it still really expensive? Are there any known serious problems?

Been using N97 mini [Zitron set]  for 6 months, overall the phone is ok, but at times the performance will be a bit sluggish, opening to many apps, for example, browser, music, notes tend to make the phone unresponsive, thus it will auto restart. I did all the updates but still the same issue. and yeah, updating the phone using Ovi suites or OTA does not detect that Firmware v12.0.0.110 is available for me too. Probably you're better off buying N8 or C7
