I had a Aztech USB wifi adapter and I try it on Debian but it doesn't seem to support my USB wifi adapter. But Ubuntu don't have this problem. Is there anyway I can download and install the driver? It uses a rt73USB chipset.
*
which kernel version that you use for debian?
i also got aztech USB wifi adapter same as your's, but it failed to connect if i'm using latest kernel .
debian can detect it, but when try to connect, it's failed
however it works when i try with older kernel such as 2.6.32 biggrin.gif

Recently my hand got itchy and try Debian Lenny stable version on an old Compaq computer with Pentium 4 2.0GHz, 256MB RAM and 20GB hard disk. Everything install ok except that my wireless USB doesn't work. Its an Azrtec wireless USB adapter and the firmware is Ralink rt25xxUSB or rt73usb I think. I try the Debian forum but no help. Anybody got any idea how to install the drivers or firmware?

Added on February 8, 2011, 7:14 pmI can confirm that there are (a lot of) people experiencing xorg related breakage on Unstable, but Testing seems to be fine. I haven't had any issues dist-upgrading my Testing-based setups other than some wireless driver issues.

already try to reinstall latest version of nvidia driver but no luck
also tried to reinstall the xserver xorg package .deb (dpkg -i method) but no luck sad.gif

@scorps
If you really need a working Nvidia + Xorg setup, you can try this, but I don't recommended (since most of the time I get the impression you don't know what you're doing).

After some testing, this helped recover one of my broken Sid boxes,

Add Experimental sources to your sources.list (usually etc/apt/sources.list, but may be different depending on your distro)

Then exit your desktop (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and go to root (su) and then

CODE
init 3

and then;
CODE
apt-get update
apt-get install xserver-xorg-core -t experimental
apt-get dist-upgrade

then;
CODE
apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-glx

and then exit;
CODE
init 5 && exit

If everything works, remember to remove the experimental sources from your rources.list

Important: Like I said, I do not recommend this method for most people, and so far only those with affected Sid/Unstable/Aptosid/Grml have applied this, and I can't vouch for a Testing-based setup. Remember, Experimental is like an angry Egyptian mob.... things can get very dangerous in the blink of an eye.

If your computer explodes, it's not my problem.

If you're afraid, install Ubuntu .... or Windows.

thanks for your reply.. if got another method? or i just need to reformat back ? doh.gif
