Well hate to break it to ya.Personally I think right about now if you're trying out the latest XFCE on Xubuntu (is it that?) then that's not a good base imo.Xubuntu is probably the certifiable slowest XFCE distro around compared to non-Ubuntu based ones.Is that Maverick or Natty you're testing with?

I'm just wondering, can't I upgrade my KDE version to 4.6.0 WITHOUT having to upgrade to 10.10? I'm using Ubuntu 10.04.

A reply of "no" would be disappointing, but I'd at least would like to know if I can or not and why.
*
erm @@ actually kde 4.6 is for 10.10

I don't really think so since so many Distro base on Debian. 1 example is Ubuntu and the next is Linux Mint. Where would this Distro be without Debian.
*
Things can went cold if they're ignorant nod.gif

Its their decision and not decided by Ubuntu or Mint etc etc

If the worse comes , Ubuntu might wanna change its course ~ they might have a backup plan for everything laugh.gif

Guyz biggrin.gif

A few statistics which makes me abit - curious

My speedtest for Windows will get :

Upload : 0.40 MB~

Download : 0.50 MB~

It never goes over 1MB , it happens a few weeks after i installed my 1MBPS screamyx on my home

But then , my Linux test turn out to be like this :

user posted image

Which is 50% faster than my Windows . Does this means my crap Windows contains malware or there is a software limiting my Windows's internet speed ?

N btw , im using this "crap" modem called Innacomm W3400V which harshly connect my Linux to the internet ~ (I dunno y)

Any ideas ? shocking.gif

Well , erm , my package is teh BB Deal RM 110 1MBPs

My Windows looks normal with only browser running and no background downloading apps

Maybe is teh DNS but im about to change modem soon

Once i get my TD-8960N modem , im gonna say bye bye to Windows 7 biggrin.gif

Some Screamyx Innacomm modem which forces me to boot into Windows 7 instead of Linux

Free things are nice to see but bleeding-ly hard to use

my /etc/fstab
why my external can do copypaste but not the usb pendrive?

Weird , your usb drive is set to read only and not read&write

Hmm , try gksudo nautilus , navigate to media and right click on your usb drive and press Permission tab

See whether the permission set is read or read&write
