But Yeah this Rom is better than the Normal/Official Rom. And my friend really love that Mediascape is gone and replaced with Gallery 3d...   tongue.gif
*
Gallery 3d is already built into ORI SE ROM. Its just hidden from the average user. If u are using Launcher pro, u can easily create a shortcut (activities) that point to the 3d Gallery ( cooliris.media.something)

Hmm, has anyone received the new Google Maps OTA yet? I've downloaded the apk but lazy to load to my phone.. but it's been awhile and we still haven't gotten it yet.
*
I couldn't wait for the update haha , so set my telco to t-mobile and installed Gmap 5 from market. Its really awesome !! since its vector based, it doesnt need as much data as it previously does. Pretty cool. Everything without the need of multitouch works. Can even see the 3d buildings (the location of the map must have 3d info, try "new york")

Added on December 20, 2010, 12:41 pmwoo hoo !! got the new market updated automatically on my x10!!

love the new look .. more professional !!

are u trying it indoor ?? try it under a clear sky and see whether the gps get lock.

if your phone have data on, the lock should happen within seconds, if no then u gotta wait for few minutes

wow , something is really wrong dude ... did u try with Google Maps when u were testing x5 ?

if GMaps can detect your location, then something wrong with your installation.

1) try reboot
2) try reinstall

of coz is X10, but I dun need the keyboard version, the funny thing is that, I found some for rm700+, u noe the adage, no such thing as a big toad hopping around.
*
x10 doesn't have a Keyboard version even if u need 1. Now i really doubt you are looking at x10, most likely x10mini

I am using X10 mini pro now..thinking of upgrading to X10. There is one thing that I not particularly like is , I need to disable Internet Access and Enable every time I wanted to use it to avoid applications going to the Net automatically. Is this so in X10 as well?
*
dont really understand your question here. Are you saying that you want to let the Internet Access Enabled all the time but u don't want the applications to go to the net automatically ???

if thats the case, u need to configure the apps thats going online at the background individually. Usually these kinda apps such as facebook for example, u can set the update interval frequency or even set it to manual update. This applies to all Android devices, not only X10 mini or X10. If that particular application doesn't have this option, then your only way is to do what you are doing now, or uninstall that app and find a better one smile.gif

Eric, have u try test those buttons in service menu?

To access service menu do the following at the lock screen:

On the lock screen where you get the slide option , press the following buttons.

Home button ( the middle one ) > Back
button > Back button > Home button > Back
button > Home button > Home button > Back
button

After you enter the combination, a new menu opens up giving you an option to choose from Service info , Service settings and Service tests .

At least u can confirm if its the software or physical part failure for the back n menu buttons.

Ps: xda member xeviro made an app to access this particular service menu, u can use that if u are lazy to do it manually

For those that had jit their phone, good news. For those who haven't perhaps it's time ;p

Z came out with an optimized version for x10, it's available in the xda developers thread, look for jit v2

lin pack now scores above 30 every time smile.gif

Yes bro,

I think u better install x recovery first cause more work required there.

Once that is done, just put the downloaded jit v2 zip file on to the sd card root.
Then just Reboot into xrecovery then select the zip file by using install custom zip.

That's the gist of it la. After that u can confirm via linpack smile.gif

damn it.i cant even pass the xrecovery installation process..

i drop the file in sd card root.
click on the installer..and then the phone reboot itself..so i thought its ok..
then did the press back button when see logo part...nothing happened. it just restart normaly.
my back button is goin to break if i continue..

help..whats wrong..the 3 files in the system/bin folder..
should be all correct i think..

thanks.
*
When do u press the back button? When u see the sony ericsson wording only or sony ericsson word + logo?

The correct time to press is when u see the wording only = almost immediately when the phone is booting

If that is not the problem then try reinstall x recovery lo

Good luck!

Edit: glad to see u did it. Enjoy the new speed boost, very obvious when opening games such as angry birds

U can search xda forum under x10i generic .24 thread, u can get the answer there.
*
i do update myself with that thread everyday. Thought getting a local user experience will be more meaningful as it involves a baseband change which could have effect with our local cell provider signals. Cell providers all over the world are different sad.gif

hmmm, based on the feedback from xda, the 0.24 update doesn't have tangible improvement ... sticking with the 0.504 for a bit longer at least until forced to do so (multi touch update) or if hand too itchy hahah

anyway, thanks

z4root didn't change

but the new 0.24 fw changed. Last time z4root use an exploit found on the earlier fw to provide us root. With the new fw, the exploit has been fixed by SE, thats why z4root cannot work anymore.

So in order to get root + 0.24 fw, u have to do custom flashing via xRecovery/x10flasher not via SEUS. The xda people have prepared a pre rooted 0.24 to be flashed.

that 2 folder that u got, can be removed without issues

got 1 question...for xrecovery backup, does it include evrything on our phone?
lets say i've installed lots of apps on my phone already, confirm stable and all, the do a xrecovery backup...
if i restore from that backup, will it restore evrything?
or do i need to do a separate backup like Titanium??
*
bro,

xRecovery backup (similar like NANDROID back up) is like a snapshot of your system + data + app at that time you initiated the backup. Doesn't need to use Titanium, I use Titanium to mainly migrate from 1 rom to the next rom. For restore purposes, xRecovery backup is better.

so, when u do a restore u will get back exactly at the point where u did the backup.

for an example,

1) Do a backup on 1st Jan (phone got angry bird, 10 sms and 5 call logs)
2) flash 2.2 to test it out for 2 days (3rd Jan), install many games, got many msgs and made 2 calls
3) Still prefer 2.1 stability , do a restore with backup done on step 1
4) Phone fully rollback to the state on 1st Jan where it have angry bird, 10 sms and 5 call logs

Kanasai,

for your info, x10 also have OTA.

wifi tethering works without issues and you have few choices like barnacle, android wifi thether and pdanet

however, i don't think x10 will suits u cuz u already seems to have bad impression bout it based on your own assumptions LOL
