i think i will buy a new X10 soon, what custom rom is recomended?
*
it depends on ur choice...
there are a few froyo's currently, but most of them are based on FreeX10 Beta4 by zidzhu...
wolf's and rendeiros are the common one .. both this guys add cynogen to zidzhu Beta4..
it depends on your preference i guess...

I tried wolf 4.5 and v5 last time. Now i understand why we must not restore via xrecovery. It's best to flash as per factory stock, then update via SEUS. After that, flash wolf.

Or else, i'm having high temp + bat drain.

Now on MIUI by Trip. Everything run ok so far except:
1. frequent reboot after download apps via market.
2. barcode scanner cant use camera (didnt install fix yet).

Speed-wise is OK. freex10 is bit faster. my quadrant is @ 1090.
*
so whats the difference with flashing using Flashtool (.435 BB54) from XDA and update thru SEUS (.435 BB54) ?
i didnt go the SEUS way, but somehow when charging, the battery sometimes gets quite hotter than usual (on wolf's)...
but no issue with battery drain....

i had the battery drain problem when i accidently install wolf's on top .504 BB49 ... obviously not the recommended BB... so i learn frm my mistake biggrin.gif

QUOTE(arayko @ Apr 3 2011, 11:53 PM)
Hi All,
I have my X10 few months back, and it has causing me headache to use it for internet browsing.
Im a user of D*GI service provider, and i am sure i have enabled all connection for data browsing(even SE officer tested and failed to solve the issue).
Weird thing would be, the connection is work for Apps based software like facebook, i managed to login and post updates without problem.
it has problem ONLY with the browser, cant browse any website at all.

Below are the solution i've been tested :-
1. upgraded OS from 1.6 to 2.1 as advised by SE officer, cant solve the problem, SE said it may due to the Operator problem(fine... will cari pasal on D*GI)
2. Lodge a report to D*GI, and they have use the same D*GI sim card for other phone model, the net browsing work fine, so it is only problem on my X10, so they kicked the ball back to SE
3. Swap M*XIS sim card on my X10, and it is work(damn... white flag raised sad.gif )
4. Downloaded other browser to try, same problem

any comment on how to solve it? i got advise from a HP shop sales man, to get D*GI replace a new sim card for me...

Hopefully someone could help me on this asap.

Cheers
ray

so when u put ur current DIGI sim card into other phone, you can browse the net with it? if yes, then I have a feeling that ur X10 radio firmware (baseband) is corrupted...

first, take out the battery and take a look at the sticker on ur phone... does it say X10i or X10a?

then i suggest dload and install FlashTool version 0.2.9.1 Beta....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
then download the latest Baseband patch (BB58)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960527
and flash it to your x10 (this will wipe out all ur settings, contacts etc- have them backup first)

if that doesnt work, download the whole firmware Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.1.A.0.435 (same page as Flashtool thread in xda)
then flash it to your phone...
good luck

u sure this site is safe? recent virus attack came from an unofficial Android Market in China ..

QUOTE(shacz @ Apr 6 2011, 09:42 AM)
hi guys, i just rooted my x10i using superoneclick. and its succesfull...the problem is, when i tried to install busybox its said i need to allow SU permission...but SU permission seems not appear. any idea?
*
do u see SUPERUSER icon in ur drawer? if not, try root using flashtool (1st page of this thread)---much easier..

and for those who complain bout battery life, here's my advice
1- dont enable data.. if u must, dont use auto switch (2G/3G)... only use 2G...minimise on 3G network, although web browsing is faster, it will drain ur battery faster too... .. how u manage this, its up to u.. there's a lot of widget out there for easy switching...
2- screen brigthness....
3-use custom rom from Xda... some has tweaked the phone to scan wifi at a longer interval... from 30secs to 3 minutes..
or u can also edit this urself in build.prop file.. google the net on how to..

1 - 1.5days per charge is normal to all SMARTPHONES with data enable and fair usage...(includes Iphone, HTC, Galaxy etc)
if u want 3-5days of standby time, best is to use normal phone with keypad
smartphone also can.. but 100% standby la.. no wifi, no 2g/3g, no calls, no sms, no games tongue.gif

that means ur phone is not rooted..
ur superoneclick was not succesful...

i suggest go for flashtool.. much easier...
set usb debugging - ON
launch flashtool
connect ur phone - choose connect ur phone when prompted
then click root button..
it will again prompt u to connect ur phone- choose to connect again
then ur phone will be auto reboot..

Tq so much...will try it now...  notworthy.gif

no worries.. i've been rooting my phone for hundreds of time cos i install custom firmware for God knows how many time..
i know the process like the back of my hand already...

anyway, if ur into rooting phones, dont forget to do JIT and xrecovery as well... this is a must for X10 (if ur into modifying)
u can also download a complete firmware which has been tweaked to its full potential from Xda and flash them using the flastool..
for 2.1 - search for KX10 - performs very well
for 2.2 - freex10 beta4 (which is so far the best custom firmware for x10

why do you want to manually install busybox ???

install xrecovery , busybox is included.

if you sendiri go install busybox, it might screw up the xrecovery cuz it depend on a specific busybox version to make it work.

BT, WIFI no issue.. battery wise more or less.. not really noticeable compared to those cynogen's...
i like simplicity, but not those cosmetic product by SITI...

I found the culprit... it was audiomanager widget.. right after i uninstall it, my ringing back to normal.. i guess miui not compatible, or maybe i cannot restore from bck up, must download new from mrkt.. later i try

Wrong assumption.. it was not audio managr, cos problem still there... but last nite i manage to got it workout..just now, problem back again
