QUOTE(mhyug @ Dec 27 2010, 01:35 AM)
yes he is or player, but were the ones whom loaned him out in the first place, and in a sense we need to be gentleman about it and honour that agreement.usually clubs do recalls if too affected but with still players availble its far chance for him to return in january.

he will return thats for sure but not this season.he still has part in our future set up and thats what the gaffer meant by him returning imo. smile.gif
*
As with most loan agreements, we can recall our players whenever we wanted. We only have Giggs and Nani as the seniors. Considering Giggs is a dinasour almost, we do need every quality players available at our disposal ready to play for us.

-----------------------------------------
The Manchester United manager told Inside United Magazine: “We’ll probably bring Tom back in January,

"Tom’s going to be a great footballer, I really like him. I’ve heard the fans are starting to talk about Tom, and I think they’re right to do that because he could very well be the next top player to come through the ranks."

Although Ferguson confirmed his intention to recall Cleverly, the Scot believes six months away from Old Trafford will serve the precocious former Watford loanee in good stead, not least because the arrival of Bebe in the summer may have hindered the midfielder’s first team opportunities had he remained with the Red Devils.

Ferguson continued: "When we signed Bebe it gave me a problem in terms of our 25-man Premier League squad. Not because Tom is ineligible – he’s young and English so he fits nicely into the criteria – but because he was an extra player and somebody else to keep happy and find a spot for.

"I felt it could be hard to give him enough football. I think five or six months on loan could really help him – he’ll benefit from first-team football in the Premier League."

Get him back in January, then loan him back out within the loan window. I don't see how that's a problem.

QUOTE(mhyug @ Dec 27 2010, 02:01 AM)
fair point but stating blatantly that one player is back up is what doesnt feel right imo.i mean every one goes trough rough patches, injuries suspension etc.thats when we need the number 1 to replace the number.my take is those whom are still here is all on the same shelf.were never the club to go stagnant and filed the same bodies every single game, thats what were really good at.

as for tom, ben and lindergard, the competition is still open.lindergarrd maybe was brought in to be back up as weve let ben go if so to speak on your terms.and as for tom improving, now not even you know it man.who are we kidding here.vds wasnt the sharpest tool when he was at fulham either.yes he was doing great at juve and before that but he himself was onec deposed by some one beater.and with his age and defying that number itself he become successful again with us.so who are we to say that at 29 or even further tom would be a world beater.
*
Kuszczak was brought in as a backup. GKs unlike outfield players, can't be rotated too much. One mistake, and it can cost you games. With outfield players, their mistakes can be cover up by other players. With GKs, you don't take that chance. 4 years, and he never once got a look in, except in the Cups and when VDS was out injured. He's a backup. He was a backup at WBA as well, before he got his chance(main GK injured or something) for that one season before we got him on loan.

Unlike Kuszczak, VDS always had the ability. He always had the ability with his kicking, controlling the ball with his feet his confidence was good as well. He played for one of the best team at the time. And was replaced by the one of the best GKs around. That's no shame. Although he makes mistakes there, but even Schmeichel make mistakes. Fulham at that time was loaded, that's why he ended up there. At that time he sign for Fulham, we already got Barthez who had a very good first season with us. And it was likely that other top teams don't need GKs at the time. GKs at top teams don't generally move around a lot.

He had 4 seasons with us myhug. And whenever he plays, those stuff he's weak at stick out like a sore thumb. He will never have the confidence, the kicking ability, the aura of calmness that great GK brings to teams. Not many are, and that's why we're looking at other up and coming GKs and trying to sign them.

key word would be stop and go smile.gif .he has to be back here training with the united set up(not to say he is alien to it but would be diffrent then what he was preping up week in week out at his current home club)

but if he does return in jan, i doubt he will go anywhere after that.that way he is set for better progress.you know what he would be staying or returning for that matter if one of our old friend still doesnt make a comeback.
*
He just need a little adjusting to do, but it's no big deal. He already know first hand how we train. It's not like signing a new player who never had the experience of training with our first team before. We are getting back one of our own who was with our setup for years before joining up with Wigan on loan.

It depends a lot on Valencia. If we feel confident that he's gonna be fine, like with earlier in the season, it's better for Cleverley's development that he go out on loan and play regularly somewhere in EPL.

yes clubs can bringg them back anytime, no one saying they cant.but seieng how cthe lad had stop and go season, its best for to stay at wigan where he is assured a starting berth then here with us wch is a high premium even with park off for 7 games.as far as quality goes gibbo has it, and so does mr hot and cold french.only consistency+experience is lacking in them
*
We have to do whats best for us. We have a shortage of wingers, soon. And considering Cleverley plays that same role and is ours out on loan, we can recall him at anytime within the loan window thing. Having him for one month won't hurt his development. It will be a good chance for him to gauge where he needs to improve. As long as his fitness is good, he would have no problem slotting in wherever he goes. Chances are if he's recalled back, we'll send him back to Wigan after that period unless he gets enough games and SAF feels that he can be useful to stay in the squad and get games here and there until the end of the season.

Gibson ain't a winger. And with mr hot and cold, it's precisely why we should bring back Cleverley. Giggs ain't young, and who knows what Nani might be like in January(not talking about form).

4 tough seasons mind you, with a hard task of deposing some one very indispensable imo(vds is that great).that point you said with chances, thats what im also referring to here.the young prospects in the gk line would be just the same how tom was claimed here.they have experience in their own set up but when it comes to united its whole different level.yeah he has those weakness youve said but there still some thing to his game that at times just stands out.i beleive tom also had the abilities albeit thus far is overshadowed by his weakness wch isnt some thing that cannot be improved. nod.gif

were staying true with our tradition of unearthing talent and nurturing them when we signed young gks/players.but lindergard isnt that young but unknown i must say so hard to judge.seeing how the market is, i doubt we will or we can go for the top rated experience ones.

this gk situation of ours is unique in a way.one hand we got our guardian retiring(maybe not who knows but its coming), in the other we have to an extent i agree with you a very good relaible backup wch "may" be the one we look after, then there is the new comer, relatively unknown at the top level of leagues.will we still look fro another gk(it would be point blank yes if tom leaves.)

owh youre quoting valencia, i had another player in mind tho biggrin.gif

but since were on valencia, its along shot for him to return.how confident he is, and how confident is our medical team too.
*
Confidence, either you have it or you don't. Kuszczak doesn't have it. That has a bad effect on his kicking. Send it to his left, and he will scream like a girl before kicking the ball out for a throw in. Add a fast approaching striker closing him down, even using his right won't save him.

To be fair to Kuszcak, he doesn't play enough game. I am sure this affected his confidence.

If he's good enough, he would get those chances.

cleverly is more of midfielder yes/no?coming 7 games i think giggs can be an able deputy.plus he bring in the wisdom wch even park+nani combined x sampai his level.biggrin.gif

well january is around the corner and the way wigan needs the lad and are willing to aid us in his development, i see him staying there.yeah we need to look after ourselves but we need the boy in good terms of playing time and etc too, in other words we need to look out after his progress wch was the major point in sending him on loan.
*
I'm talking about Giggs can't be expected to play every game, and then there's injury to think about. He's like Mueller/Park that can play anywhere in the final third except striker.
He would miss about what, 5 games? It won't hurt his career to miss that.

Hope we get to see Rooney back on song soon. He's playing quite good so far, but he's still not at his best. And then we'll have Valencia back in a month or so.. can't wait for those.

Jinxing only can be done by sheep on LYN!

Talking about jinx.. we should thank sheep as well for the recent upturn in Carrick's form. Probably still not at his best, but he does make our defence more secure.

Keep it with chelsea for one last game. Then change to Arsenal. If Rafa returns to Liverpool, no need to ever put their avatars/siggy. They will self destruct with him.

hehe...slowly la. to be honest, i am a horrible runner. 2-3km is my limit a day. if a few weeks dun jog, even 1km gets tired >.< maybe the boringness is a factor, i can last 90 minutes on soccer field...
*
OT, but how do you jog? Run non stop till you get tired and go walking pace, or you run lets say for x mins, and then walk 1 min, and then run x mins and so on.

Mine max is 1.3km before I tire out last time I tried it a month or two back. Then I started running at 1mins interval with walking. I felt much better and can run for longer distances. Right now I'm at 4mins run and 1min walking at intervals. But by the time I reach 3km, already pancit.

QUOTE(SAF)
We had a player that once said to me Rooney and Ronaldo weren’t good enough. Can you believe that? He actually said they weren’t good enough and he wasn’t prepared to wait until they were. That’s what happens, that’s the problem with potential – people don’t identify potential, they’re very poor at it. I’ve identified it all my life within young people – I know potential, I know how it can be developed and I know how to have faith in it - young people surprise you when you give them an opportunity. And that’s what this club is about.

Ando, Nani.. huhu

Just look at Inter. From Treble winners, to a club that is standing at 7th place. Liverpool finished at 7th place last season. Who was in charge of both? Moratti did the right thing by not giving that mong of a manager a penny to spend. If not their money would go down the drain signing 10x fullbacks and changing them each season. How can anyone think he's great is beyond me. Shit man manager as well. He is so full of himself. The fahct thing killed his career basically. And I love it how the Liverpool fans love him because of his fahct rant. That was the time thing got from bad to worse. The rot started by giving that clueless manager control to sign players. Keane 20m for half a season... laugh.gif

His agent said that SAF allowed him to go out on loan provided that he's gonna get regular playing time.

Cleverley said he will definitely stay for two more games at Wigan. After that is still up in the air. For short term, we could do with him. But with Valencia only coming back at end of February, we might need him more than that. Who knows what else is gonna happen next. Nani is already missing a bit. Giggs as well.

QUOTE(71ers @ Jan 4 2011, 03:39 PM)
oh ic .. looks like there wont be new signing unless someone is sold or remove from the squad list
*
There won't be one unless SAF go shopping for Tosic/Diouf/Ljajic/Bebe type of signings. Young, not expected to play any part anytime soon. Even if the all of Gary, Scholes, Giggs and Owen retire tomorrow, we won't need a new signing I say although considering how fragile Hargreaves have been, we might need one.. Henderson anyone? Welbeck, Cleverley.. we could recall them back.

It's still a mystery though about the GK situation. SAF says he expects VDS to retire at the end of the season although he didn't confirm it, and VDS haven't said any of that. One out of VDS and Kuszczak is bound to leave at the end of the season if not sooner(Kuszczak). Lindegaard.. is he a backup with a future in mind or someone who will go straight into the side? He will be available after Stoke right? Hope we get to see him soon although with us meeting Liverpool and Spurs, he would be on the bench at most I guess.
