QUOTE(tiong @ Dec 24 2010, 05:46 PM)
Took my red beauty for a long ride from KL to Klang. Running around 80km/h (coz federal hway is only 80km/h). The meter showed 520KM instead of 440km. Think the ECU will re-adjust the meter according to the driving style.

Installed locktech without touching the wiring as PE/E SC said as long as don't touch wiring, then no problem. This pedal lock got 2 locking systems. Got a good price there.

Just found out that my car tinting workmanship not good coz got dirt between tint and windscreen. Ask SA, SA said approach Exxtint for replacement.
*
Interesting..

ming sharing more info on the locktech with price, etc?

really interested

icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, had my 1st 1000km service at Cheras SC since most SC's now fully booked due to holiday season.
nice place as you can see them working on your car

Frankly, I don't know. But I do know how a stone will leave some scratches and paint chipping. I used to work in industrial area and I had a spider web like crack on my windscreen of my previous car. And also small dents on bonnet left by stones. Thanks to lorries.......  blink.gif

I was in Subang jaya that Sunday and had drinks with friends after an event. So, I'm pretty sure it was not stone. And i noticed the dent after my drinking session. Anyway, it is past and my friend had repaired it for me so it is like new.

That's why I agree that getting some attention is fine. Too much attention is not good  whistling.gif

Cheers. Merry Christmas.  laugh.gif

Has anybody installed the Yuubi lock? Apparently their customer service personnel informed that no cases of cars stolen after installing Yuubi. She said there was an attempted theft of a CRV before but it was unsuccessful.

I'm still considering installing it but unsure if it would void warranty.

Otherwise what's the best option so far and what's the cost like?
*
QUOTE(darkangel7 @ Dec 26 2010, 06:20 PM)
How much is this Yuubi lock?
*
last week i called, the girl said still none for Inspira/Lancer, but expect a price ranging from RM900+-

I do like what u say.I put my head there already. But not working. My head stuck at the window. Screw cover at the window also missing..wth

Which "head" u used?
laugh.gif

jk

anyway,

a friend pointed out SierraGlow actually cuts through your clear coat layer, that's why swirl marks aren't spotted anymore afterward.
I'm not sure about PPS though, need Darkangel's input on this.

I don't think i'm ready to "delete" the clear coat & replace with SG's silicone layer though.
Or maybe i just need some persuasion

haha

Well, if you know how a wax works, then you will know actually this stuffs won't do any good to your car paint works....
*
I don't really know the details of waxing but what i do know is, i'm lazy to go wax every few weeks/months
laugh.gif

QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Dec 28 2010, 12:16 PM)
I have done SierraGlow on my gf. The sky is kind enough not to be raining on her yet. But I can say, after the treatment the car body feels glossy, super smooth and dirt/dust is not sticking to the surface. I am impressed with their professionalism.

The purpose of doing SierraGlow for me is to minimize my effort of washing the car and maintaining it squeaky clean as mine is white. I already had enough of washing her 2 times in 4 days before SierraGlow.

We have to be realistic that after 5 years, all car paint will deteriorate to some extend, a fresh coat of paint is always advisable. But with SierraGlow I think you will have less painful experience in maintaining your car clean and shining if you take into account the effort that we need to send for waxing and periodically polishing, polishing is not cheap each time and it wont last more than 3 months.

So SierraGlow is good for lazy people like me and I just take it as if I paid in advance all the waxing and polishing fees in 5 years and most important its hassle free after that & my gf is happy smile.gif
*
I'll be doing it on the 4th as i'm going with another friends myvi as well
laugh.gif

just curious,
if wash at those normal carwash, will it still cause swirlmarks on the paint?

my 1st was in PE Cheras..
they just follow the coupon unless u specifically requested for other stuffs.

Nope, i didn't buy anything extra though theoretically stuffs like "magnet trap" is good

Semi bro. They strongly recommended it for the car's own good.
*
if semi, i'm skeptical it's good for 10,000km. i might just change it at 5000km interval
sweat.gif

QUOTE(DM3 @ Dec 29 2010, 09:37 AM)
u didnt ask them why use semi synt. for new engine?
at least a syntium 1000, if request can change to fully?
*
PE Cheras doesn't allow changing to fully if you're using coupon.
best bet is u take the semi, & buy a fully syn for them to use

if u see lancer's engine oil used are minimum syntium 3000 or fully synthetics of at least 5w-40
*
P1 have been using semi syn for awhile under the free service coupon
laugh.gif
we either have to change 5000km interval or change to better oil at our expense, if really worried about the engine's health
doh.gif

QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Dec 29 2010, 11:24 AM)
I notice my front right side absorber also got sound only happens when I use the car in the morning and go on the 2 humps at my housing area only. After that, no more noise during the day going over any other humps and returning to the humps at my place also no sound already. So weird. So plan to have it checked out on the 1000km service, maybe in a few weeks time as I want to observe it longer. Hope you can keep us posted as to what happened to yours maybe I can point it out during my service. TQ.
If you bring your own oil, will they give you the semi oil to bring home under the free service coupon? I plan to service at PE Mutiara Damansara also.
*
yeah, some pointers for all of us to look into would be great info thumbup.gif

yeah, shouldn't be a problem if you take the semi & use your own oil.
I did the same when i was still using the Neo with free service coupon.
Though i don't really know what to use with the extra oil as i don't have an extra car
doh.gif

BTW if want to bring your own oil, please bear in mind, our engines use 5L of oils, or 4L + 1L bottles to be exact

It depends on the person, what we provided here are just opinions.

For me, not planning to sale the car lah, previously driving my Wira for 13 years, still going strong.

Now need to jaga 2 biji, twice the wash, twice the wax, but by end of the day, it's worth it. icon_rolleyes.gif
