I use the card mainly for petrol. I just got maybank amex cc approved. so better use amex since getting 5x point for that.  the da card anniversary date  is by april 2011. the last installment only end by june 2011 means i need to pay for another round of GST.  mad.gif
*
either way, continue or cancel, u still need to pay rm50 (gst or penalty).

besides, if u want to do BT to amex, it have minimum amount to proceed.
is the remaining balance of the 2 months qualified? sweat.gif

u go shop at tesco & giant every sunday, get 5% rebate.

1 month max rebate rm50. so u still have 4 months, which u can get max rm200.

take rm50 from that, then choose to pay penalty or gst laugh.gif

Guys, I have a few cards now, 2011 trying to cut 2 of them off.. to prevent gst...

here r 2 of these 3 will have to go...

UOB
CITIBANK
CIMB

any advice?
*
citibank should be 1 of the 2. coz its have annual fee (except for choice) tongue.gif

but then, choice rewards is only applicable for block of rm50. swipe rm49.90 wont get anything! sweat.gif

uob and cimb, both free for life (uob with condition). and u need to ask urself which card u nee the features most.

example, if u shop at tesco/giant on sunday only, then stay with cimb (5%).

if u pump at bhp then stay with uob (2%) - assume u on uob one card.

so its up2 notworthy.gif

*
yes. posted at their website too ~

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Jan 4 2011, 09:37 AM)
how can you even think of removing Citibank? oh come on!
actually citibank can easily waive their annual fees. i have waived mine for 3 years now without fail.
*
i prefer free for life, or auto free waiver with condition (example 36x swipe/year), rather than need to ask for waiver whistling.gif

QUOTE(PPZ @ Jan 4 2011, 09:22 AM)
how many cc you guys using now. i have 2 but still thinking want to cut or not. at the meantime, i am applying for the OCBC titanium cc. i want to ask, let's say OCBC rejected my application (touch wood), i reapply again, will they reject it again??
*
keep at least 1 MC & 1 Visa. bcoz they have their own advantages and promo sometimes.

me - 2 visa, 1 amex, 1 mc

my cards: DA, Maybank, HSBC

DA - increased CL 4x within 8 years. also free from gold to plat.

HSBC - increased CL 2x within 3 years.

both cards really high spending sweat.gif
but full paymet notworthy.gif

MBB - never increased CL. but then, this card previously use for monthly payment of vacation club (and swipe sometimes, statement around rm500 only). now not using it anymore. statement balance = RM0 biggrin.gif

will terminate it this year before renewal date.

I have 2 cc right now. One for shopping & another one for petrol. Now Im scouting for 3rd credit card that offer high CL that have 0% installment easy payment scheme. any suggestion?
*
CL is depends on bank.

even if u apply using currect plat card the bank still have the right to not give the same high CL.

apply with ur payslip, so bank can see how much they can give u CL. usually 2.5x.

me - DA give 2.2x, HSBC 1.2x only, while MBB & PBB equal to my salary (or can i say less? laugh.gif).
all plat card except PBB, gold (coz esso/mobil dont have plat card ~).
but its ok. enough CL already.

regarding easy payment plan, all card provide this service.

the diff is only their 1 time charges.

example PBB is FREE for 6 months, 1.5% for 12 months, 5% for 24 months.

while CIMB/DA is FREE 10 months for education, hospital and insurance only.
others than those 3 are 2% for 10 months, 4% for 20 months, 5% for 30 months.

Alliance FREE for 6 & 12 months (promo till 28/2).

AMBG FREE for 6 & 12 months (promo till 31/3).

and so on...

SCB gave very high CL (double DA's CL) even i'm new to them.
*
ur DA is gold or plat? and the SCB is plat?

if i'm not mistaken, SCB min salary for plat is the lowest in the market (even classic & gold req are same?) ~

my fren have SCB plat but my gold card have higher CL whistling.gif

but then, whats the use of high CL if not paying in full amount? high interest charges too? sweat.gif

bloody hate this bank...
it's the only bank I hate!
I remember I had their CC 7-8 years ago...
I paid in full every month until one month, november, i still remember... I went travelling... passes due dates like 6 days...
their hound dogs from some company called price solution or watsoever called.. me... I told them I'm @ oversea... will pay when back...
then they kept calling... i refuse to answer coz of roaming fee... after 3-5 missed called, i kenot tahan, then I picked up...
the stupid girl ask me... "can u tell me when will u come back ah?"... I was soo damn pissed off..

the first thing i did when i came back to Malaysia is go to SCB, paid my outstanding and canceled the card... I even canceled my Saving acc...

I will never deal with this bank anymore...
*
cust that always pay full amount also want to keep calling? even already told at oversea? doh.gif

i missed my DA due date also few years back. no call from them (that time still Southern Bank) then paid in full, and no charges at all thumbup.gif

I dun "bird" them... laugh.gif
*
if SCB give card free for life (even with condition), i might consider brows.gif

my experience with ambg, that time they only give free 3 years, so i request to cancel, but they begging me dont cancel and will give more CL.
i like LOL. i dont want more CL but need to pay for annual fee! doh.gif

and now ambg already give cards free for life (with and also without condition) laugh.gif

my experience is just i want to cancel mbb last year 2010, but they offer me another 3 years free annual fee + 10k tp to offset the gst, no increased cl ~ so i just accept it (but plan to terminate it this year 2011).

something to share around, I've just upgraded my cimb petronas classic to gold recently,
everything seems to be in order until i receive my gold card statement (i already receive a statement which bares the classic card number the week before)...
It states that i have finance charges and my interest is 16% rather then 13.5% which means i have 1 payment i did not made on time.

called the hotline and found out thats a computer fault. after 2 calls with their agent, the problem was rectified. it's a no no if you happen to apply any card during that period which might resulted with a quick reject ~
*
my hsbc statement never shows the interest rate. i thought bcoz i'm always paying in full amount.
but my mbb statement shows the interest rate even i'm paying in full amount.

but then my sis-in-law also using hsbc and not paying full, same like me, there is no interest rate shows in the statement, even she got interest charges on outstanding sweat.gif

I am not sure which topic should I put this information. If moderator thinks this is not the right place, kindly move it to appropriate place. Thanks.
