Dogtooth Blu-ray from Kino

Kino Video has announced that it will release Dogtooth (Kynodontas; Yorgos Lanthimos, 2009) on Blu-ray on March 29. This darkly comedic, highly allegorical film about a family raised in absolute seclusion, was listed yesterday as one of the nominees to the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The studio was initially going to release it on DVD only, but in response to the vocal reaction from enthusiasts on Kino's Facebook page, a BD will also be available.

Release details are still pending.

May i know what is credit card exchange rate for US Dollars and UK Pounds now?

I was charged 1 pound : RM 4.88 for my last purchase from AMZ UK.
And i was charged USD 1 : RM 3.17 for my last purchase from EBay.

Bank rate is different than what's publish in the newspaper, it's best you check the rate for the CC bank

the best is to check with your local bank's rates, NOT newspaper published rate

That's been my puzzle all this time... why bother checking whether UK is region free. But some box sets are cheaper sometimes.

The FX rate depends on when you did the transaction also... and plus 1-3% above published rate, depending on which bank's credit card. GBP 30 day ave is 4.818 and USD is 3.0784

Check the following example . This is the rate from CIMB at current date.
4.88 better than 6.xx some years ago.

A quick check at CIMB site shows that today's rate is at 4.91, so it means that after adding CC service charges, it should be over 5.00 by now. Gosh........

Newspaper rates are interbank rates. They are not retail rates which are sold to consumers.
If you want to use newspaper rate then be prepared to have a few millions on hand to exchange because that's the minimum transaction to enjoy that rate.

You are buying using cc then you need to use the bank rate + factor in the cc transaction charges which can be as high as 2.5% on top of the bank rate.
You can't avoid this transaction charges unless you buying in cash which is next to impossible in Amazon's terms.

Instead of dumping into bin, better don't buy "ahem" BD's.

Haha... I found that downloading (pirate also mah) is 99% playable while hardcopy pirate BDs/DVDs have nearly 50% faultrate. Conclusion, if you want to get cheap, downloading is better... muahaha.
