By the way.. I'm here to let you guys know what to do if you are miscapped. Recently through my own experience of TMNet's crazy mood of purposely downgrading my 1Mbps link to 512Kbps, I've taken some steps that assured my restoration of speed. So here goes:

1) Make a report through 1300-88-9515
2) Call them once a day with the SAME report number that you initially got.
3) Call them till it's the 3rd *working* day.
4) Call them again on the 4th working day and tell them that you've just got "Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia's" complain form and if the problem is not fixed by 7th day, you'll post it through POS-DAFTAR.
5) Continue to call them and also write e-mail to custcare@tm.net.my and tell them that you are going to complain to MCMC on the 7th day.
6) On the 7th day if they haven't fixed your problem(which I assure you, they will by now...) Go to http://www.mcmc.gov.my/consumer/complaint.asp and download the form, fill it in and send it to MCMC via POS-DAFTAR (for confirmation purpose).
7) MCMC will write a letter back to you within 3 working days. Scan this letter, attach it to custcare@tm.net.my and call 1300-88-9515 with the MCMC reference and let them know and tell them to update it to your report that you've complained to MCMC (it's part of MCMC's proceedure).

Finally..

Sit back. Continue to call them everyday.. be nice and talk to them nicely. Within 15 days, MCMC will call you and tell you that TMNet is going to send their technician the next working day + refund your lost of speed for that amount of time.. hehe! Personal experience!

Anyway, lesson to learn here is... Complaining at TMNet and LowYat do no good. If you *really* want to complain, go to MCMC!

p/s: As for me.. the technician came on a Sunday night and TMNet's senior engineer called me on the same night to confirm with me if my line have been upgraded to 1Mbps package. Took me about 1 month to get them to upgrade my line back + refund!

- I was a victim of mis-capped case too 2 years ago, got 512k instead of 1M. unfortunately i had to resort to step 5. Remember, you're the customer, dont need to be "understanding" to them. after all, this is their mistake, not yours.

Hi guys, under my modem status it says 512/256 kbps but I am using 1mbps service. Is there anyway to change it? I am using Aztech 600e. I called them and they launch a report already. I was wondering if there is something wrong with my modem settings instead.

This is my modem status...an AZTECH(forgot wat model).....the main problem is or kinda strange....oni frequent dc at night btw time 10pm-12am....after 12,maybe once..then all return to normal...during daytime...or other time (start 12am-9pm)...there is no prb of dc at all....

is it my modem prb?area prb...or perhaps line prb??

wow...i think i oso mis-capped liao...i pay RM88 a month...but get this speed....
i got call to clicker then they say they canot fix it wa...and tell me to call the 9515...dammit..after that i call to 9515...the ppl say my area is upgrading service...then my account will slow...but my fren who oso live in the same area...still can get his speed....512kbps..how come me can't get 1024kbps?? cry.gif

my phone line was connect with the alarm . it will auto call to my phone if the alarm was ring. i was apply the streamyx and try to plug the modem yesterday, it will show NOT DSL signal at all. now i would like to ask izzit the phone line connect with the alarm will effect the signal of the DSL???? i was call the streamyx technical but he not yet give me the better solution, he said maybe my phone line got connect with alarm maybe will effect it, but i wan to said this phone line is just fresh wiring since this is the new house and all phone line also was juzx fresh wiring.. so somebody can give me the better solution abt this, TQ.

I'm using a aztech 600EU and well, eveyrthings ok except that the PPP light dosent turn on. I checked the log and it says this:

Help needed please
Ive been having frequent disconnection since I first install streamyx
Last time I checked my local snr margin it was 9-11 dB
But now it dropped to 5-6 dB
Here's my dsl param

I've tried many ways like bypassing the filter and it never helped
I will call tmnet tomorrow and likely to hope some wayout to my problem here

i just phone them for 4 days...then problem solve...they ady re-cap me to 1mbps...tq 4 the information in here...if not i won't knw that i got the mis-cap problem...tq 4 all... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

My Streamyx line is not working at all now, no DNS Server detected.

Left a message with TMNet Customer Care hours ago, no reply as expected. Called their Customer Care line 18001-300-88-9515, got a recorded message saying that streamyx service is currently down in KL and Cheras. But i'm in Subang Jaya.

Anyone knows what's happening?
Is anyone in this area also having this problem?

BTW, there's an announcement on TMNet Website that the Call Centre was down for repairs from 12.00am to 8.00am this morning. So the Call Centre is now working, but the Service is not? What a mess!

Sometime this morning, my Streamyx line quietly came back into service. The guy on the Care line mentioned that there was something wrong with my port and that it would take 24-36 hours to fix.

By my estimate, it took less than 24 hours, and i'm relieved they resolved the problem.

Sometimes TMNut can surprise you. Thanks to the guy who took my call.

unless they check within the modem, nobody is going to realise about that

and my attenuation is so bad.
