QUOTE(mecch @ Dec 16 2011, 11:01 PM) anyone here know about working environment at Murphy Oil  ?based on own experience or heard from friends? if I'm not mistaken they were contractor before now its an operator (client)... Murphy Oil is an operator (client), or PSC (Production-Sharing Contractor). definition of PSC is different from what u know from other 'contractor' terminology... Added on December 19, 2011, 12:02 pmQUOTE(azraeil @ Dec 18 2011, 02:24 PM) joe_star I don't work with Petronas and the info I give is public knowledge (public if you know who to talk to though) and I was involved with all the review process for the operators .... We Malaysians put so much stock in what the Mat Salleh say even though what comes out are mostly rubbish .... still have that colonial mentality .... totally agreed! QUOTE(azraeil @ Feb 18 2012, 03:10 PM) Once you reached 5 years, then you're marketable to a lot of companies (not necessarily the big operators) but basically you will start having options. Once you get to 7 years (late 20's early 30's) then some big overseas operators will start looking at you with interest. You will get some opportunity of being an expats in the middle east/Australia etc. Once you break 10 years, you are extremely marketable. Once you reached 15, people call you (headhunters etc) and you basically just need to tell them what you want in terms of Salary and Benefits But you cannot coast when you are trying to get experience. Get involved in as many projects as you can handle during the first 5 years. Tell your boss that you are willing to take difficult projects and you will deliver and you should be able to get the experience you need. I second your motion... Added on February 20, 2012, 4:08 amQUOTE(weedox @ Feb 14 2012, 06:12 AM) is it possible for degree holder in aviation engineering to join oil & gas? did learnt about gas turbine, sheet metal works n basic NDT..if possible then what position can suit? interested to join oil&gas lah.. yes possible. you join contractors who deal with GTG like GE, Solar, Roll Royce etc for both upstream & downstream, such as Serba Dinamik, IMPSA, Tanjung Offshore, SapuraCrest etc...
