Next sitting will most probably be my last semester in the course of ACCA. So I decided very last minute that I want to do a 2 month internship, preferably with the big 4 in malaysia. But I guess I sent in the application too late. Called up EY HR department to find out that they're currently full for Jan and March intake. Chances are things are the same with the other big 3 firms. I did however get a call-up for interview for internship at livingsocial.

Do the big 4 have the intakes at roughly the same time? How early should I start applying for their permanent position (Considering I've missed the opportunity to intern there)

Also, where to start if I want a career other than an auditor? I'm much more interested in performance management and business analysis. (Also do better in both) Should I take the conventional auditor path as a start before I hop to another route?

I applied for the audit assistant post at KPMG through their website last night. This morning i got an email from them asking me to do the online assessment tests, which I just did. I only managed to do 13 questions for numerical reasoning and 22 for verbal out of 37 and 48!

Is there a way to know whether I've passed or failed the test?

At the same time, I applied for Sg mid tier firms but no news after almost 2 weeks. Btw, I'm ACCA graduate with no bachelor degree.

Thanks! I'd like to answer your question but I am in no position to do that. Personally I think (after extensive research) EY and PWC are the best choice and you scored both. My friends who know a lot of auditors will tell me to choose PWC, just based on what they heard from their auditor friends who work at both firms.

the assessment consists of 3 parts : competency (no time limit), numerical and verbal reasoning, time limit 12 minutes
you have to assess the information given in the question to find the correct answer
it's not really tough, just that you will feel under pressure when there are so many questions to do in so lil time

umm no i didn't get my result, just an email that they'll contact me in 2 weeks if I'm shortlisted
you won't be able to finish the test, just aim for accuracy
competency test is just like you assign points to a statement that you agree, the truer it is, the more points you give
example of statement is 'i feel comfortable being in charge' and 'i like selling an idea'

I'm not sure we're talking bout the same test
if we are then they're genius
i can never finish 48 questions in 12 minutes, that's 15 seconds each question, not including the time taken to process the info

have u applied? try to call the hr and ask
if u haven't applied, try to do so as early as possible when the internship application is open

apply first, worry later
you can also call the hr to ask your chances of getting the internship with your results
it's better and more reliable to get the firsthand info from them

maybe not in Singapore but in Malaysia they will

If you don't hear back a week or two after you've applied, call and ask nicely to follow up

Have faith in yourself, ask hr what you just asked me cause I'm not sure
Try to be a lil funny when you talk to hr, get them to like you then they might reveal the info you need
