no idea man. I'm only starting in Jan 2014. But I reckon it's allowance to cover your petrol, mileage, parking etc? That's why it's "flexi" lol
*
it's a general allowance...
PwC have specific allowance for specific categories..
EY just introduced a general one lol

Can someone tell me is it suitable to ask whats the benefits of the firm provide during an interview session? Will it sounds like I am a materialistic person if i am asking this? Thanks!
*
personally i don't think it's inappropriate
you are just looking out for yourself..
but you don't have to ask that cause you can easily find the answer here..
also the interviewer may not know the details of the remuneration package cause it's HR's job.. unless interviewer is from HR side but interviewer for big 4 is never from HR
so i won't advise you to take the risk lah

Anyone know normally it takes how many days for big 4 to reply our application? What are the stages needed to go through before get employed?

Thanks!
*
big 4 KL should be fast, within 1 month, I'd say, except for deloitte, i personally had bad experience with, the only big 4 that rejected me after 3 to 4 months?
try to call to follow up after over a week, i called ey and the hr screened my resume on the phone with me right away and offered me an interview
Usually EY will be the first among the 4 to be the first one to respond

Oh, okay!
Did you apply through their website too? You called them and they'll direct you to the hr department? Then told them your name? Because there is no reference no. if apply through their website (if I'm not mistaken)
Thanks!
*
Yeap, there's only 1 way to apply. Call general line, tell operator to direct you to hr cause you wanna follow up on your application status
Just tell them your name, no reference number
Calling will speed up the application process by getting the HR to see your resume, unless they don't wanna entertain

QUOTE(isandy @ Jul 2 2014, 06:06 PM)
Called up both EY and Deloitte ady. Deloitte has reassessed my application and invited me over for an interview. May I know how's the assessment? Will there be group assessment or mainly individual interview.

EY has reviewed my application too and asked if I would be interested in tax due to my academic performance. They will get back to me as soon as possible.

Any advice?
*
Try other big 4 or try tax
if EY HR deems you unsuitable for audit, they won't recruit you
my friend got offered an interview for tax after her audit interview

I've applied to pwc a week ago but have yet to hear anything from them. does this mean i can just forget about pwc?  sad.gif
*
Call to follow up
Last time i waited for 2 weeks n called, HR said i just missed their main intake, asked if she should hold my resume for next intake
anything could happen~

Last time I rejected KPMG, they offered me RM6000 for basic salary for Senior position. I am really disappointed on what they offering for 5years+ experience. Come on la TheBig4 kot, a global and big company.

Annual Leave-14 working days per completed year of service
Medical Leave-14 days
Hospitalization Leave-60 days
Hospitalization & Surgical Insurance-Annual limit up to RM40,000.00 (Self)
Specialist Treatment-RM1,500.00 per annum (self)
Outpatient GP expenses-Unlimited visits and expenses at Panel GP (Self)
Broadband Allowance-RM30 per month (surprise with the amount, so little)
Parking Allowance-RM50 per month (surprise with the amount, so little)

FYI I am not an accountant.
*
if 5 years big 4 audit experience, can become manager already with salary of RM7k

QUOTE(AyoSoshi @ Aug 13 2014, 04:39 PM)
I had an interview at KPMG recently and the staffs really kinda left me a bad impression.

1)The receptionist is so sulky and look pissed.
2)The interviewer(HR staff) is quite rude,at least that's what I thought. When he was conducting the interview, he was looking at the paper most of the time from the start til the end (I'm serious when I said he was only looking at the papers even when he was asking the 1st question). I understand that he needs to take note and look at the resume but honestly I think its polite to make occasional eye contact with the interviewee.(he wouldn't even look at me when he is briefing the procedures! I don't think I look that hideous lol)

The career talks held by big4 firms said that their interviewer ware friendly and would try to make the interviewee comfortable etc. So I am naive to believe that and under the impression that they are indeed friendly.

Are big4's HR staffs really friendly as they claimed and I'm just the unlucky one?
*
if you wan friendly culture, EY is famous for it.
I myself work for EY and I can say it's pretty true but there are always some exceptions, very few.

Hi! I've just received my acca results last friday and am now an acca graduate. I've started sending out resumes to the big 4s throughout this week. when might i be able to expect a reply from them? and my friend said that since its the non-peak period now, recruitment process is slowed down. is this true? thanks in advance!
*
EY's main intake for the year is mid of September, I applied around this time last year.
PWC's recruitment maybe is just over.
KPMG should be now as well.
Like what other forummers said, please call them up to have a look at your resume a week after you submitted your application.
