Normally are they willing to reschedule to next interview session if I'm unable to make it and I did reply to inform in advance(immediately after getting the interview invitation email)?

QUOTE(noonies_naruto @ Oct 12 2013, 11:06 PM) A question for uncles, I don't see why not, ACCA states "completing three years’ employment in an accounting or finance-related role(s)". Just like how some people do combination of tax and audit to make up the 3 years, or even commercial firm(approved) 1 year then move to audit firm 2 years make up total 3 years, as long its all under accounting or finance-related role(s) then it fulfil ACCA's requirements.I'm in my second year right now and planning to leave right at the end of it. Will have to pass the 3rd year due to 'inconveniences' that I could foresee in the future, being a senior (if ever get promoted) in a team where the partner is pretty difficult to manage must suck so badly. On top of that, none of my other seniors will be there either, leaving me alone. But I'd still like to put my resume as 3 yrs big 4 working exp, what say if i switched to Advisory for my 3rd year, can I still put my work exp as 3 yrs in Big4? can I even get the ACCA membership title with a 3rd year in advisory? I've seen some people, leaving assurance at the last of their 2nd year and going into advisory. That kinda interests me~ and then finish advisory one year, I chow la. source: http://www.accaglobal.com/en/employer/supp...ainees/per.html That's why sometimes I also quite curious and confuse on why some colleagues emphasise so much on 3 years and their subsequent plan to leave afterwards, I understand it if their justification is that they believe they can learn more in Public Accounting Firm rather than commercial corporate environment. But I can't understand it if their justification is that the 3 years experience must be gain in Public Accounting Firm only can get full ACCA membership that's why they can't leave sooner than 3 years. QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Oct 30 2013, 08:50 AM) The normal(also depends on performance) progression/promotion is one level per year, so if u referring to Tier 1 senior then its about 3 years, tier 2 senior will be around 4 years. |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Nov 25 2013, 11:41 PM) Quick tip, if u don't know where to start, study prior year or other sample working papers, an important thing to keep in mind while thinking how to start is think what is the objective ur work? most of the time is the audit assertions, then now think what kind of procedure u should perform, what kind of test u should do to obtain that assertion, most of the time these kind of thing is common sense and not at all very technical.Hope this help |

QUOTE(MongHuk @ Dec 7 2013, 05:11 PM) Hi guys, i am going to start off work in a small firm next week, but i had already applied to Big4 and also most of the Medium Firms, currently waiting reply from them. Definitely... The answer is obvious, why dwell in small firm when have opportunity to get better exposure in bigger more recognised firm?I would like to know whether is it appropriate for me to join Big4 and Medium Firms, if they invite me to the interview. |

QUOTE(MongHuk @ Dec 7 2013, 06:07 PM) I mean, it is appropriate to tell the interviewers in Big4 and Medium Firms that I just started work in small firm? Or I should keep quiet about it, just in case it creates bad impression to them like I am hopping. No, since you're just fresh in small firm so that little experience equals no experience, so no benefit in telling that u already hired.I do hope i get a place in big firm >.< |
