QUOTE(ComradeZ @ Dec 9 2010, 09:53 PM) It is not about shoot right or not... it is about the color of your photo, sir... actually when comparing RAW and JPEG... RAW holds the most detail of your photo. In term of your color and also details of shape in your photos. So when PP in RAW it gives a more detail for you even convert back to jpeg it gives a better details than what you capture in jpeg hence the bigger space.. hope this helps if u know how to control the settings, WB.. the color would turn right |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 9 2010, 10:04 PM) Correct, if you PP your photos it is best to use RAW. It retains more details. Especially when you play with split toning and all, much nicer with RAW instead of JPEG. Hmm but when we edit the RAW files I found out RAW files are a bit washed out compared to JPEG because of the lack of picture control from the camera. So when we PP we must adjust the saturation etc to make it normal?Or don't need? Since I got my D90 I seldom shoot RAW, above was based on my experience with D40. So at KLIMS if I want to PP, shoot RAW better right? |

QUOTE(razuryza @ Dec 9 2010, 10:19 PM) yep and also the details of the photo would be degrade... anyway, some of sample of photos taken by d40+kit lens non-VR in RAW... PP-ed within 30 second... which to say when using RAW no hassle in editing » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(lpyycy @ Dec 9 2010, 10:45 PM) you can try... when you edit jpeg... the color are kinda hard to control... but when using raw, it is easier because you can make it clean, or how to say this... it didn't give you hassle when doing PP easy say... I used to shoot jpeg... but when I found out how RAW files works... I become addicted to it... I mean there is a reason why professional people want to buy a bigger size card... and I'm afraid they don't just shoot like machinegun... much more to say wasting the space, right? even if you see their catalog can see what they offered. Like for instant, "We will shoot all RAW on your big day so that the picture casualty will be reduce... and so on" this particular statement already pointing out the important of using RAW files format. |

I'm using friend's CF card, its a whopping 32GB Sandisk Extreme! ZOMG -.- LOL. I don't have CF and since his 1Dmk4 masuk hospital so I pinjam use first keke.I used to shoot jpeg... but when I found out how RAW files works... I become addicted to it... Anyways, from my experience. If edit using raw and changing color tones it seems better. Photo appears cleaner, most likely due to more details and data retained in the photo. Example this kinda post processing, ![]() Output looks clean and natural. |

The latter one is correct right? Since they update in the system... Then does this means "unfilled warranty card" is useless already? |

regarding shooting RAW and JPEG... I actually salute and really impressed with certain people's output with only JPEG...
mainly I shoot RAW because I'm afraid I'll screw up the WB setting (and heck, I always do that shooting RAW and JPEG has their own advantages and disadvantages... shooting RAW doesn't mean u're pro.... |
