Just did a Quadrant on my K10C + ext4 all
Scored a 1619, though 3D rendering still seems slower than on Eclair.

Hopefully by the time we get Gingerbread (way over X'mas already biggrin.gif), it would be very optimized for our processor, seeing that Google is using Samsung's phone as next flagship. smile.gif

Hi Ken, when u say latest version, r u referring to Swype Keyboard?
I installed the JPO Swype add-on from Doc's thread. You reckon there is a newer version out there?
*
how about trying the other JPA and JPD Swype from Doc? My version is 2.4.44.10814, default from BUJP8 v9 rom. because I saw others who're also facing the same issue with you. It's like the shift key doesn't go off during the 2nd alphabet

hi is it true htc desire hd pawn samsung galaxy s so much in a benchmark?

You do realise that the HTC HD is a newer phone model, don't you? It has more RAM, a newer CPU but smaller battery. It's good news for the Android community that newer phones are getting better and better, I think.

In any case, Quadrant benchmark scores don't really reflect real-world performance, I feel. With cyanogenmod 6.1beta2, my score was 2K plus while now on speedmod k10c, I am getting 1.8k plus. The phone feels much better and smoother with speedmod, regardless of the benchmark score.

Use ADB or Terminal Emulator.

Root Explorer is stupid, can't mount /system as r/w one.

1) place rom in SD card
2) Boot into clockworkmod
3) apply sd card update.zip
4) locate the file
5) click yes
6) let it do magic

Internal. yeah, will be all gone. Better backup. As for the kernel, you flash K10C afterwards. But I haven't try this rom yet. You might want to ask feedbacks from others who've tried smile.gif

Also about the iPhone being smoother. Yes this is true, but only because of GPU acceleration that is implemented on the iPhone (and Galaxy S for that matter). GPU acceleration has been rumored to be a feature of Gingerbread which the Desire HD will probably get.

I don't think Eclair or Froyo currently support hardware-accelerated UI, so it's probably not currently available on our SGS.
