cshong I think saying what you really meant is unethical, unscrupulous or deceptive instead of evil. I do agree that calling each other names, cursing and condemning does not help the problem and will it solve it. What TM did is wrong. Globally and illegally capping their users from home to business users is definitely unethical to say the least. Everyone here agrees with it, nobody is denying anything (except TM, of course).

I do however disagree that creating turtle banners, complaining and ranting in forums, blogs and chat rooms does not help, it does. It indirectly advertise the current situation of the problem to people who haven't realize it so yes, it does help. In addition, it also gives us users the big picture since we can share information and know whats going on around Malaysia, I call that very useful. Let's just stop fighting and bickering like little kids and try to focus on the big picture (fighting TM scum, of course).

Whatever we're doing right here in forum is useful; debating, arguing back and forth on the problems and solutions. Even venting does help since it indicates that there is problem elsewhere, not just where we are, so we're not alone.

So calm down guys, no need for personal attacks. We need to focus on our true enemy smile.gif

I am willing to stop if I don't see anymore TM defend post after this post.

We have confirmed that the following ways to punish TM is useless:

1. Complain to SKMM/MCMC.
2. Complain to KPKK.
3. Writing to newspaper.
4. Some others.

I am not going to waste my time on above. However, for SKMM/MCMC, I am going to make a report to Public Complaints Bureau.

I have nothing wrong with him sharing info

But I have a problem with him saying Tmnet is no evil, we must pay more as we use and all that load of BS which basically translate to giving TMnet more money. None of his suggestion has any hint of being beneficial to us consumers. His suggestions only makes the consumer more vulnerable to further exploit by tmnet, as if their current mistreatment of their customers is not bad enough.

He needs to take off his rose tinted glasses.

I have exactly the same thinking.

I am now saying something that is exactly in my heart. If streamyx, lets say 1Mbps package with limited bandwidth, priced between RM0 to RM1.** per month, I am going to ask those heavy downloaders to STFU if they complain. But, if the price is more than or equal to RM2, which the current 1mbps unlimited usage worth for, I am going to stand at the side of those heavy downloaders.

Rushing downloading something to install on my young cousin's computer, else that naughty boy is going to beg me again.

Anyway, if Streamyx really implement usage limits, those gamers will really going to <bad word> TM, the game client itself already cause GB size in bandwidth.

The best way to test your speed is directly download something.

Since yesterday evening (7pm  about when the capping gets really bad). My speeds were ok. Got about 180KB/s HTTP download. When it reached about 9pm, it was capped, but much better than usual 100KB/s-110KB/s. And finally, after 11:00pm ( yes, i actually saw it), the speed went back up to 180KB/s again.
*
180KB/s is not normal also.

Assume you are on 2Mbps package. 2Megabits per second = 2048 Kilobits per second = 256 Kilobytes per second. Normal speed should be 80% from the subscribed speed, that mean it should be at least 204.8KB/s.

According to Streamyx FAQ, it is 80%.

TM nut should not be called "TMonopoly Nut". Instead, it should be called "TMCB Nut", "TMGL/TMKL Nut", and more.

I think Chinese here can understand what those words mean. Tips 'M' = "m*i"
