hi Bro,
I mean job for sales engineer, SGD3K.
As for manufacturing,
my specialty is uncommon in Singapore.
I had surveyed that 4 my job scope,
it is considered niche market.
They will offer as Assistant Eng only.
Anyway, all of them rejected me because
either open for PR/citizen or my qualification 2 high
for assistant eng.
n also, i noticed that the job description for engineer
in Singapore is more challenging, most of the skills I not acquired.
maybe due to education system different, or mostly kwailo MNC provide these skills.
I was graduated in Physics.
Anyway, as long as I able to get job in Sing. then I can settle down
and aim for PR and so on. C how lah.
Now oledi 31 yrs old, late oledi when look back.
Recently I got called for interview for sales engineer in Sing local company,
when I demanded that I 12 stay in Sing. n drive M'sian car (they 1 me 2 stay in JB
n to n fro daily), no more reply from them.
When review back, ridiculous 2 drive m'sian car in Sing.
But if stay in JB, many disadvantages :
-need pay house rental
-safety
-jam in traffic/custom
-driving risk (eg. accident, etc)
-energy
4 company point of view if stay in Sing (I guess)
-SGD20 per day, petrol, parking, higher allowance, etc.
but advantages for me :
save rental, time, energy, good safetyThanks!
There is a few reason why they ask you to stay in JB.
1. You can't stay in Singapore if u wanna drive a Malaysia car because the car must leave the country at least 6 hours a day and the driver must not held any residential address in Singapore it self.
2. Parking in Singapore is expensive, petrol is expensive as well.
3. If you leave home at 6:30 and reach immigration at 7am, i can guaranty that you won't stuck on a traffic jam because its rather empty (i commute daily by bike, but after school holiday, i not so sure).
4. Safety in JB is a not as good as SG, but if you stay in KL before, i would say its more a less the same, so no big deal.
5. when your company ask you to drive a Malaysian car in SG, i think the $20 VEP is beared by them right?
6. Rental wise, JB is a lot cheaper compare to SG, a room in SG is $500 (minimum) and with RM1.2k, you can get a whole condo unit just next to the causeway.
Unless you will be driving a SG car (you need SG license to do this), it is impossible that you can drive a Malaysia car in SG long term.
