Sky Sports sources understand Johan Elmander could be the man Newcastle turn to after offloading Andy Carroll to Liverpool. The Swede is currently with Bolton but will see his contract expire at the end of the season and the Trotters may look to cash in.
Hope its not too high a price to pay..decent striker.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Feb 1 2011, 04:20 AM |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Feb 1 2011, 10:06 AM) Read an article that says he was forced out of the club. Can't post the link at the moment coz I'm using my phone to post. Says he was practically told to go coz the money was too good. He reiterated his desire to stay hence signing a new five year deal. Club says he wanted to leave for more money. Who is right here? i bet that news is just to make Carroll look like a saint now considering the backlash he is gonna get from Newcastle fans..I hope he is a flop like Keane was at Liverpool..no blame on Liverpool but Carroll is not excluded from the blame whatsoever..Added on February 1, 2011, 10:16 am QUOTE(reef_d @ Feb 1 2011, 10:06 AM) i think selling carroll for 35m is good business.. bro..are u still in dreamland ar? Transfer window already shut la..no replacement..ofcourse if ashley keeps the money or cant spend it before the deadline closes is of no use to us too.. i hope we manage to sneak in some last minute replacements.. QUOTE(Zer0 c00L @ Feb 1 2011, 10:17 AM) Waking up to this news is seriously damaging my morning, I'm not bitter that AC9 has left, Im bitter that the Fat piece of shit has accepted the bid at all, and I will become even more enraged knowing the fact that he will not invest any of that money back into the transfer window... someone is in foul mood apparently..hehe..did u follow what happened last night bro? Newcastle twice rejected bids from Liverpool only for Carroll himself to hand in the transfer request..thats what made the deal happen..I know its a fair price for AC9 but its not fair if you just take the money clean off, rip the club off of its biggest asset and replacing him with zilch *** ok Im starting to get worked up, better go watch some SNSD Regardless of the story that Carroll was forced out, he could have stayed and the transfer request he handed in, could have been avoided.. |

QUOTE(Aztec @ Feb 1 2011, 10:21 AM) 10-12mil bid for charles nzogbia,14mil for bendter bids turned down..hardly ambitious is it..just shows u how last minute everything was..incompetent crap n who is to blame for that? did u honestly believe that 24 hours ago, we needed to find a striker to replace Carroll? That deal was last minute and we were left in a mudhole by the striker himself..Carroll can say he was forced out all he wants, but another certain Geordie rejected money and trophies to stay at the club he loved no matter what..Carroll is just a shadow of that Legend.. For anyone who is saying Carroll really wanted to stay, consider what NUFC.com have concluded. The following piece is very logical and do-able for Carroll:
QUOTE Monday's Chronicle back page headline had rather a different take on the situation: He could have rejected the personal terms worth Liverpool if he wanted to stay, there wouldnt have been enough time for him and Liverpool to renegotiate..ACE CARROLL: I WANT TO STAY (which does tie within previous press interviews about never wanting to leave, happy wearing the shirt etc.) If that is the case though - and we understand that the number nine is reluctant to leave United - then failing to agree terms would put the cat among the pigeons and blow a hole in the supposed transfer request. One therefore can only conclude that in the end, the player wanted to go as much as the club wanted him to go. |

QUOTE(jiidaineko @ Feb 1 2011, 10:33 AM) lets be fair , he cant be sulking for a signing on photoshoot ... it is just not right lol im just saying that Carroll could have stayed if he wanted to..of course Cashley wanted to offload him but ultimately, it falls back on the strikers decision..look at Charlie Adam..in the end, he stayed at Blackpool eventhough Spurs and Blackpool agreed the fee at the last minute.i respect your opinion but why are you so confident that it wasnt cashley who forced him out? afaik, if a club wants to sell u, u are gone 99% of the time. your loyalty doesnt really matters much. the handing in of transfer request could be cashley's gimmick to save his arse from the possible unimaginable rage just listing out the possibilities Added on February 1, 2011, 10:41 am QUOTE(kueks @ Feb 1 2011, 10:39 AM) haha..just the usual stuff..why u gone MIA, and need for u to change thread title coz already basi one week..u have changed it so everything is ok.. QUOTE(Zer0 c00L @ Feb 1 2011, 10:47 AM) the worst bit of all is especially what AC9 represented for NUFC, a symbol of hope and a pillar for the future and sorry to say you cant put a price on that, if AC9 did what he did, then i'd say give the no9 shirt to Harper and let him retire with it Harper no9? Im all for it pal..Carroll just made a mockery of Chris Hughton's decision to hand him the no9 shirt..the thing I'm worried most is that that fat piece of sh*t will pocket the profits clean off and not reinvest in a decent replacement but instead we might land some cheap and unwanted rejects in the summer Well, lets just pray and hope Ashley just wanted one last payday and cashed in on Carroll to go away with 35 milliion pounds before selling us off in the summer..or anytime before the summer.. My dream now is: Qatar's Royal family buys Newcastle United from Mike Ashley and have lorry loads of money to spend..and they install Jose Mourinho as the new manger with Alan Pardew given 5 million pounds pay off for him to spend at the casino with Ashley..God make my dream come true.. |

Nolan, Barton, Jose Enrique, Jonas, Colo..now show your worth.. |

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here..Carroll's gone..let him do whatever he likes..if Kenny was a factor for him to move, then lets see what Carroll thinks if Kenny is not signed on permenantly by Liverpool..
As far as who should be blamed for the deal. lets just say tha tboth Ashley and Carroll wanted the move..we cant hide the fact that Ashley is a devil nor can we ignore that Carroll should have probably stayed and help his hometown club..either way, its done.. Dont forget we have a big game coming up on Wednesday night (early Thusrday morning) against Fulham away..Fulham have played twice since our last game against Spurs..its a good time to take advantage of maybe their fatigue.. I think our players have a good spirit and mentality..right from those dark relegation days, to the Championship season, not to mention the dissapointment of seeing Chris Hughton being sacked..these players have stucked together a while and they know, the only way to turn attention away from the problems they face is by giving a good performance on the pitch and let their football do the talking.. 3 points on offer at Fulham if the players want it..its there for the taking..the best way we can show Carroll what he missed out on is by finishing above Liverpool.. a bonus would be to beat them in late April.. My wish is that our players will do their best and show the world that Newcastle United are not a one man team and can survive without Andy Carroll.. I promised myself I didnt want to continue commenting on the Carroll saga anymore but now Pardew has come out and said somethings that really irks me..
Here are some things I want some of you to consider..Ashley is a clown..true? But as much as a clown he is, I think what he wanted was to sell Carroll in the summer..thats what I think anyway..Now dont get me wrong, I hate Ashley as much as everyone else, but from a business point of view, he was right to cash in on 35 million pounds of profit.. Here comes to the part that I hate the most..I dont care whether he was forced to submit the transfer request or not, but he did it anyways..But Carroll could have easily said no to Liverpool's personal terms..that could have stalled the deal..it might be easy for me to say, but if u loved the club and bleed black n white like Shearer did, u could have pushed aside all the money in the world Liverpool were offering and stayed with ur beloved hometown club.. Carroll was obviously distracted by the money incentives..dont put the 'my boss doesnt want me here' factor into this..as far as the deal was concerned, it was done between Newcastle and Liverpool..it all then depended on the heart and soul of Andy Carroll..would he still wanna play for a chairman that doesnt want him there or just stay and play for ur beloved club? In the end, Carroll made the quick decision Liverpool was better for him than Newcastle which I believe, he might regret for the rest of his career.. A fine example of what Carroll could have done is see what happened to Charlie Adam..Spurs and Blackpool agreed the fees..it was up to Adam to decide..he didnt want to play for Spurs but rather play for a team he loved that was Blackpool..it might have been a different story had it been Liverpool or Man United instead of Spurs biding for Adam..instead he chose Blackpool over Spurs and with that he turned down Champions League football.. Classic example was Shearer choosing Newcastle over trophies and glory and Man United..and towards the end of his career, Shearer turn down a chance to taste glory and trophies with Celtic (who apparently had agreed a deal with Newcastle) and stayed put playing for his hometown club..his last game for Newcastle was the 4-1 away win at Sunderland when he got injured and retired altogether..pretty sums up everything about the Legend and shows to us how "gutted" Carroll really was to leaving his hometown club.. "Gutted", my arse.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Feb 2 2011, 01:25 AM |

These are the two most intriguing things said by both Pardew and Carroll about the deal..
QUOTE Alan Pardew "Was this about football? That’s what you have to ask. I don’t think it was. We turned down a big offer, and they came back with a second big offer. We were having a discussion about what we were going to do with that offer when Andy requested to see me. "I went to see Andy, and face to face we had a conversation about him wanting a new contract, even though he signed on in October, and if he didn’t get that contract, he wanted go. "I asked him what he wanted, and I went to the board. We had a discussion about what the ramifications would be for the whole club. We took the view, with him signing a contract in October, that this would cause us all sorts of problems. "Andy is probably slightly misguided. We didn't twist his arm to get on the helicopter. If he wanted to stay he could, but he's not here. "...our last few performances without Andy have been terrific and we need to carry that on....if Andy really wanted to stay then he could have stayed. But he's not here." "This is about Newcastle United being bigger than anyone and the decision was right for the club." QUOTE Andy Carroll "I was in talks about a new contract and talking to the gaffer about that. He told me that they are now not going to give me a contract. That was as soon as the offer of £30m came in. "So I asked why (I wasn’t getting a new contract) and he said his hands were tied. He said it wasn’t up to him. Then a £35m bid got accepted. "And then I was allowed to talk to Liverpool. The owner then made it clear to me that I was not wanted at the club. Saying that his own helicopter is waiting for me to go down to talk to them. "So being shown I’m not wanted I said OK I will talk to them. Then suddenly the bid was rejected and then Derek asked me to hand in a transfer request. So I was pushed into a corner and had no choice. I wasn’t wanted by them and they made it clear they wanted the money. "Then I flew down in his (Ashley’s) helicopter. I didn’t want to leave. I’m gutted that I wasn’t wanted at my home team after everything I’ve done and progress I’ve made. "I didn’t want to leave at all. Make sure they know I didn’t want to leave. The players, staff and fans were fantastic." what would have happened if Carroll had actually said no to Liverpool? What could the Newcastle management have threatened him with? Would they really have left their prize £35m asset to rot in the reserves for the rest of the season? I think not.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Feb 2 2011, 02:08 AM |

My final say on the Carroll-gate saga..
Andy Carroll should look at who is the player that is the lynch pin of the Geordie Magpies Newcastle United team..the man who will put everything on the line and who will even put Newcastle United before England is a man who comes from Liverpool (or as he wants us to refer it as Everton)..his name..........is Joey Barton.. Provided that Joey doesnt go back on his words and declines to renew his contract and even take a pay cut, this is the man that currently bleeds Black n White..he could have easily left the club when he got into trouble with his own fans, trouble with his private life and not to forget, his bust up with Shearer..but this man stayed put and vowed to fight and play for this club and so far, he is doing a fine job of it.. Kinda ironic that Newcastle have Barton and also Kevin Nolan, 2 Liverpudlians, fighting and sweating for this Geordie club when Liverpool have just got a Geordie to be their number 1 player.. p/s: I would also just like to mention and congratulate Alan Pardew for being a man true to his own beliefs and principles, in other words, being sensible..He fought of the temptation of splashing silly huge amount of money on players who were not worth it..he refused to get a panic buy in, just to satisfy the Newcastle United fans..because if we did, we could have ended up with another Albert Luque or Jean Alain Boumsong type of signings..a mistake that previous managers have made.. Alan Pardew also has said he wants to move on and continue the success of this season even without Carroll..I can think of a few Premier League managers who would have left the club because of the decision and ultimately, make an already bad situation even worse..another Keegan style walkout in protest of Ashley would have killed us..I know it would never have happened coz or Pardew's good friendship with Ashley but I believe he is still a football manager at heart and he must have been hurt when Ashley decided to sell Carroll..so in a way, Pardew has done something that other managers would not have managed, that is to move on and work with the team at hand in hope of success. Sensible.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Feb 3 2011, 03:26 AM |

Awful performance.. really hope we never wear that blue shirt again..no point gained everytime we played in it..Bolton, Spurs, Stevenage and now Fulham..
I said earlier Enrique played awfully..so guess how bad our other players played..I saw Barton really frustrated with his team mates..he went so deep in the final few minutes of the match and tried to conjure something up that he picked up the ball behind our central defenders.. As far as our striker crisis is concerned, Ameobi is gone now so Best, Ranger and Lovendkrands have really need to do well and try to make a name for themselves now..there's even the prospect of Sammy Ameobi, Shola's brother, getting a chance to play.. I couldnt care less what the performance and results was last night..it was too soon for the players to get over the Carrollgate sage..hope by Saturday, atleast their head can be in the right place.. p/s: TO THE ZUL..when the heck will u remove that traitor's picture from ur profile photo..? I feel angry and sick everytime seeing that pic.. |

Sorry guys..not one to spoil the good mood..But I have just came on the thread and started to read the posts from the start of the game till the end here..and seriously, some of the post are absolutely shit and ridiculous..Im sorry to say but some of u just go back and read any comments u posted about the team in the 1st half and I bet u, there will some who should feel ashamed of urselfs..
First half, some were mocking the team like crazy..saying absolute shit about the team, and then by the end of the game, u are saying u love the team like crazy..some people only come here once a week to post comments..when we win, u come on once a week and say the team is great..but when we lose, u come on here and mock the team with nasty words, ridiculous suggestions and some even go to the etxtent of wanting to never watch Newcastle United again.. then u dissapear into oblivion.. I know some here are true NUFC fans..but some are just NUFC fans by name and only know how to talk shit and bad bout the team only..Im not talking about the topic of Ashley and the club's board..that is an absolute different matter and probably warranted..but havent some of u heard of the words 'FAITH', or 'BELIEVE'? The game is only 27 mins gone, and of course we are 4-0 down..ofcourse we as fans have every right to vent our fustrations..but why the heck are u suddenly turning on the players who u were applauding and cheering on a couple of weeks ago whne we won..? Just becase of the score, u suddenly wanna join fans of other clubs and join in saying we are the laughing stock of the nation? Gimme a break, bro.. By the end of the game, some here were saying whoever went to sleep or switched off the TV after 4-0 should be ashamed of themselves..some of us here even started to taunt those fans at SJP who left the stadium early and saying they should also be ashamed..but what about the comments that were posted here when we went 4-0 down..? and those same people who were making big noises when we went 4-0 down suddenly saying we are great and we are legendary and so on..REALLY? are u serious? Look back on what u said first before saying anything about others.. I'm sorry for being such a party pooper here..but my God, some of us just need to stand by our beliefs and principles, not only for Newcastle United Football Club, but also in life in general.. All Im saying is, if u wanna mock the team or a player, continue to stand by ur beliefs untill u are willing to accept that the team or player, deserves ur 2nd opinion..people who mock a player or the team one minute and cheeer or praise the very same player or team the next, are clearly shameless to do so.. if I have offended anybody with my commets, I truely appologise for my words..my only aim was to make some of us here support Newcastle United in a true and positive way and to help us have some FAITH & BELIEVE in supporting our beloved team.. Thank you This post has been edited by dxjb: Feb 6 2011, 02:05 AM |
