anyone using titanium backup? from the market, it said that we need to ROOT our phone in order to use it.
is it true? thanks.

smile.gif Yes, titanium backup need root, why you want to use titanium backup?

usually it use to uninstall system apps

If you want the backup functin, can try "MyBackUp Pro", download link at previous G5 thread

Hello there, need some advices.

The alarm clock of G5 is having problem.

It won't turn on by itself unless it is plugged to the charger with the phone turned on. If I leave it overnight (airplane mode) the alarm won't work until I press any button to make it "awake" by that time 10 mins have already passed from the intended alarm time.

However, it works if I test it (example: my current time is 9 am and I set the alarm 5 minutes later). The only thing is that it won't work if the phone is left overnight (more than 6 hours or so).

Any ideas experts out there?

Thanks.

The alarm is handle by a apps call "Clock" (you can found this apps in menu screen)
if you use Advance Task Killer to stop it, the alarm wont work, untill you run it again

Actually I got the same problem. I did not kill the apps clock, in fact I purposely choose to run the "clock" apps and let it to on make sure that the alarm will trigger. In the next mornig, my alram clock (the real one tongue.gif ) sound and not the G5. The alarm only trigger when I press the button on phone which is 30 minutes later..... shocking.gif

Hey all, my GF bought this phone recently and I've been fooling around with this. I must say, I'm very impressed with this phone. Installed the GPS software I got last night (thx SGPC) and it did take awhile to lock on the signal but I finally got it. Yet to try it out on the road.

I am now planning to get one for myself! Yay!

Lastly, should I root this phone? Opinions?

Thx all thumbup.gif

Rooting is getting the superuser (su) permission. Some apps need su permission to run eg Shootme. You can refer to first post on how to root and unroot. But rooting will void your warranty. If any problem, you have to unroot it back.

Dudes, use apps like Alarm Klock for alarm purpose. It's good enough for me.

here for your reference, might can help

Do remember, G5's GPS unable lock satellite in indoor, pls test it outdoor

1.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use Wireless Networks(always keep tick)
2.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use GPS Satellite (always keep tick)
3.Go to Android market download and install the apps "GPS Booster"
4.Restart phone
5.Go to outdoor (without tall building surrounding within 100m)
6.Open Papago

1st 1-3 times might need longer locking time, later will get better and better

Optional : You can download "GPS Test" at Android market to view the satellite connection status
