QUOTE(majorarmstrong @ Dec 4 2010, 08:01 PM) see the table below... i also dont know what it talk about.. can someone care to explain itu table ar? from left to right» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Latest Reporting Period DPU/ Distribution per Unit (or Payout per Share) Price Yield (calculated by trailing DPU or combining the payouts for the previous 4 quarters) NAV - Net Asset Value as u can see some yields are not that favourable, while others are quite strong. there are various factors in REITs but the people over at the REITs thread can definitely help u out. in my opinion, i'd choose reits if i want really high-yield & stable investments. Hi,
How to calculate the annual profit generated from Dividend? example for STAR? http://bblifediary.blogspot.com/2010/11/hi...updated-on.html ![]() How come he calculated is 17% so high? I can see that it give out 41 cent per share per year What i calculated is i assume i bought at JAN 2010 at 2.7 (10.5+10.5+21)/270=15% And i suppose bearish market will impact on the divident right? Any concern need to care for REIT? futures eh? yeah, I got arang batu experience with them. for those forumers talking about indices
I would really like to see them post their pov and see its performance with my own eyes anyway, whether active or passive, as long as performance beat fd & inflation rate is ho seh liao the higher the risk, the higher the return. depends on one's own risk appetite if young, go sai lang la. if mature due to garam, then take it easy & enjoy the sunset years once reach age 70, wan a peaceful mind coz others say must keep mind sharp & active at all times & enjoy wat we do QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 4 2010, 05:42 PM) Capital appreciation, I don't know, some stocks haven't sell, everyday still fluctuation, how to count? Some also forget what price I bought already, don't bother to dig out the record/slip that already dusty. I just know my stocks all are beating the FD rate currently. But one thing, I can assure you buying steady good dividend stocks are quite rewarding over the long term, and with a peaceful mind everyday. I am a lousy trader. Others forumers are 10x better than me. |

QUOTE(sulifeisgreat @ Dec 5 2010, 02:23 AM) futures eh? yeah, I got arang batu experience with them. for those forumers talking about indices ive got a small capital in futures too. playing 1 contract at a time but now taking a break from it cuz of the stress. so far made a few bad calls, and some good ones so overall a good gain. but i'd prefer stocks over futures because futures really put a lot of pressure on you, and really need a good trading plan a lot of technical experience, and hella good information sources I would really like to see them post their pov and see its performance with my own eyes anyway, whether active or passive, as long as performance beat fd & inflation rate is ho seh liao the higher the risk, the higher the return. depends on one's own risk appetite if young, go sai lang la. if mature due to garam, then take it easy & enjoy the sunset years once reach age 70, wan a peaceful mind coz others say must keep mind sharp & active at all times & enjoy wat we do QUOTE(Superman7 @ Dec 5 2010, 02:04 AM) i think they're just discussing about REITs as an alternative to high-yield divs. REITs is like touch n go to me, once in a while must top up one This post has been edited by teehk_tee: Dec 5 2010, 06:47 AM |

QUOTE(Currylaksa @ Dec 5 2010, 07:02 AM) Don't understand what you mean I think what he means is that CI high, stocks are moving up high, so can earn much more than defensive REIT, which usually moves only 4 times a year (while declaring dividends) CI high means REIT overpriced... or you mean we should invest in CI because it's high? Added on December 5, 2010, 1:40 pmI guess for those who can't take stress or those who is already rich, may play safe game on divvi stocks/reit. Since only the divvi received already large amount, enough to buy benz. On the other hand, those new player who has little capital, may play higher risk stocks, hoping to grow more capital from their tiny capital. Small fish like me with little capital should invest in more aggresive stocks, cause if invest in REIT/ High Dividend Stocks, my capital will only appreciate very slowly.
