Marvinben, so you think that's a good idea huh? What's so hard about Morse code? If they do abolish and implement the exam system, how many have taken the RAE a few times and yet fail the exam..

Yeah ~ just abolish and take the easy way..

i agree with bingyao, nothing is hard if u can put ur mind to it. If u think it is hard it will be hard. I would rather suggest that the freq of this exam becomes more often & more convenient for everyone to take no matter RAE exam or morse exam.

Morse code examination doesn't make sense anymore. Just do a survey on how many OT who still use CW. And those passing CW exam, how many even bother to use it after that point. IMO the RAE is very easy, It covers the technical part which every amateurs are expected to know. Sometime I disappointed by the fact that a large sums of amateurs never even built their own antenna.
I'm willing to go abroad and take the Class A equivalent exam then convert it to 9M in Malaysia just to circumvent the CW exam.
By the way this is all my personal view. I have no intention to step on anybody's tail.

so, just wanna ask about RAE class B and callsign assignment.. after passign the RAE exam, am i assigned a callsign immediately or do i have to join a club to get the callsign?

hmm..what i remember..wait for result...must get 2 person signature from 9M..pesuruhjaya sumpah...join club is not required...

errrr, it is possible to study by urself, i know several people who didnt attend class & still pass the exam, but if u can attend the class y not?
