last time i have the same problem. the headphone jack masuk habuk. i suck it all out (dont ask me how) and its gone. maybe dust in the jack or else it shud be hardware problems

Anyone has upgraded iPhone to 4.2.1 ? I tried mine but keep on unfinish during 4 hours download and keep on restart from 0kb. It is frustrating, any chance I can save the half-downloaded data and not start from 0 ?

Both method tried. Me face problem of can't finish the download ... almost 4 hours and it says disconnect to server than start from 0kb !

Guys, how do I connect to a wifi network? I have a wifi setup at home, and it's static IP, so I have to configure my IP and DNS config on my iPhone to be able to connect, and it does connect fine. But when I'm outside, say at Oldtown or Starbucks with non-password protected wifi, I can connect to the network with the default settings, the wifi icon appears in the top left, but I'm not able to connection to the Internet.

Someone answer me please?

I'm on i4.. I've tried shake hard my i4.. But not a sound heard.. Only heard sound when knocking at the top back.. But none when knocking at bottom back...

i tried around more than 5 times. Download and install later. And everytime the download speed is consistenly 100 to 150kb/s. Finally able to download so happy with it. What i found out is when you downloading you have to keep playing around with the itunes. Hahahahs this is what i found out la. But iOS4.2 is sucking your facetime activation. It's keep waiting waiting........ for the facetime activation.

For all those people asking what are the sound that you hear when you tap the top back of the case, it's the vibrator motor. Nothing wrong with your phone. Refer here on step no 9.

When you're @ home, you set the static IP on the phone then you can use the internet. This bypass the DHCP to assign you an IP address. SO you are good to go.

When you're out @ OldTown and connect to the WiFi, tap the blue arrow and see if you are on DHCP, BootIP or Static. If static then you need to tap on DHCP so OldTown WiFi can assign their own IP to you.

Sorry if this has been asked, but after updating to iOS 4.2, my usage and standby time is the same now.

My battery is draining faster than ever due to this.

How can I fix this? Thank you.

When I'm in OldTown I use the default settings eg. DHCP, I leave the IP address, DNS, Router address unchanged. The Wifi signal icon appears in the top left after maybe 20 seconds, signal is okay, but I cant actually connect to the internet. I've tried this in a few places and I'm never able to connect to the internet.

I have the same problem too. Try hard reset already but still having this problem!!! charged 100% full before sleep, 6 hours later it drop to 96%.

previous 4.1 can stay still to 100% overnight standby but now it seem drain more faster than usual...

looked through this thread yet another battery draining issue? seem lots of ppl having this problem too.

might try to do a clean restore to eliminate this common issue.

i got a stupid question...my gf sends me text from her sonyE phone. but i want to see the emoticon icons. how do i do it? i know there are apps that are able to download it but im quessing those apps are only usually for iphone to iphone......

I try to download to my PC at the moment since the download manager and pause and resume while iTunes can't.

Reading a lot of issues here for the 4.2.1, hopefully Apple may hear it ...

So, what I can do now is plug in my iPhone and restore?

i upgrade frm 3.1.3 to 4.1 os for my iphone 3gs 16gb
i on cellular data network already but the problem is i still cant surf internet
