QUOTE(skeleton^king @ Sep 18 2007, 12:59 AM) Depends, if the sound is getting louder and louder, you better backup all your valuable data. It's going to spoil soon.QUOTE(lovemychemical @ Sep 19 2007, 06:47 AM) hai everyone,I dont know much about harddisk so I want to learn la Hmm... From what I know, it's because the computer reads the 80G differently than human do.can I ask basic question about hard disk here like "why my hard disk state 66.5g.b for :/c and 8.gb for :/d but at the box said its 80g.b???" and "is a new pc hard disk suppose to be 66.5g.b for the first time use??" can anyone tell me a bout this basic thing or some where i can find info on that thank you very much in advance 80G(computer) = 80 x 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 85,899,345,920 80G(human) = 80 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 = 80,000,000,000 This is due to computer is base 2(binary base) which 0=Off , 1=On. So the nearest to 1k is 2^10 = 1024. Added on September 19, 2007, 7:04 amAnyway, total for your HDD is 74.5G(what I added from figure you given) This post has been edited by jiaxun: Sep 19 2007, 07:16 AM |

My western digital hard drive just died. Cannot boot and detect. But still under warranty as its 2 year +. Anyone has tried to get a drive replaced from western digital before? Do I need to bring the disk to their office in PJ.

Yea the fee is rm50 for the IT shop to do it. Just want to know whether its a difficult procedure to get it replaced. Do they impose a latest date to deliver it after filling up the form on their rma website ?
