chamakh is good yesterday but he is not the finish article yet...i hv yet to see him take a defender one on one and win...he tends to pass the ball rather than bulldozed past defenders...

Also another thing that comes to mind about Chamakh is his timing of runs is excellent. Can't remember the last time he was offside and the amount of times he has been in one on one situations has been incredible.

Not every striker can be like Henry or Drogba type.

As long as he contribute to the team, be it scoring goal or assist a goal, then I'm truly satify with his performance thumbup.gif

Remember this is only his 1st season at BPL, he still has lot of potential yet to be explore whistling.gif

I still rate Chamakh. Imagined without him, where would us be now? Seriously. RvP is good, but injury prone is injury prone, plus his Stupid Holland > Arsenal so really, eff it.

RvP's skill may be superior, but contribution is like 20%, i will take Chamakh ANYDAY, Period!

And Arshavin, U beautiful magician!!

i think yesterday Arsene Wenger did have plan to sub in v.Persie, but he didn't at the end because of tactical reason since Villa look to score. You can see Wenger make 2 defensive change and 1 more as time wasting strategy. It show you that even Arsene Wenger also worried about Arsenal conceding late goal/equalizer.

Yes he is.

QUOTE
Wenger admitted he was slightly concerned after leading 2-0 at the break and conceding, just a week after being stung by a Tottenham comeback.

''With 2-0 at half-time it happened again, it was quickly back to 2-1, but this time we managed to find the resources to keep scoring goals. At the end of the day overall it was a good game and a good performance from us.''

that's the way it was suppose to be played.... close out the game... not sending more attacking players when you're leading. u do that when you are behind. heheh

can help but notice arsenal weakness in defending high ball.

the flank players doesn't help to reduce the effectiveness of the high ball which resulted in 2goals...

so sad, if arsenal can improve on this,

League & champion league are within grab

can't wait for the Old Trafford match.

Btw, i like how Arshavin play the corner kick to Nasri, reminiscent of Robben and Ribbery last season UCL match against Manu. If you can't head the high ball, play it lower to your feet. Of course in this case, Aston Villa player didn't expect Arshavin to deliver far from the goalpost so Nasri got wide space to unleash his shot. Nice technique by those two players.

Chamakh is doing what Robin was doing for us last season before he went off injured. He's either scoring goals himself or playing others into scoring positions, and I just can't help but think what Robin could have done for us had he not been so unlucky with injuries.

But anyway, some opinions on the game yesterday... missed the first half hence didn't get to see Bobby in action.

1. This is probably one of Arshavin's best display. Quick feet, inventive passing, lovely turns and tricks. However he can be quite frustrating at times as the squandered a few chances where a team mate was free to receive a pass but Andy himself went for glory and either blasted the ball over the top or got tackled. Still, this is the Arshavin that we want to see week in week out, not the lazily jogging version.

*
To do a split second passing while he's dribbling in fast mode is rather difficult situation. Im glad he'd just do some shots and not passing game, Aston Villa playing like Tottenham mode leaving some space for the midfield, lying deeper to see if we're goin to do the usual passing game (we're dominating). But Cesc is not playing, so our game became a variable not predictable.

Arsenal got 20 in Fair Play standing, but i don't think that stats did any justice because there are some bad/inconsistent call from referee. At least Arsenal doesn't play to kill.

At least our player knee-butt (accidentally) the Villa goalkeeper and he's still ok. If other team probably just gonna send that fellow to wear helmet.

8. Yesterday's win is a much needed boost to our team as well as the fans, and if any Arsenal fan doesn't regain any faith in our team's abilities, maybe he/she should stop watching Arsenal whistling.gif

I was really frustrated with our 2 straight losses that I was considering this. And then we won 4-2. What the hell was I thinking? lol

Chamakh goal you can see he provide protection to Brad Friedel. If other player, i'm sure Friedel will be substituted after that goal.
