QUOTE(shahzane @ Dec 15 2010, 08:44 AM) nice pic u guys posted there.. this 14-45mm is not Olympus's m4/3 lens right but Panasonic?anyway, i'm still new with the E-PL1. i find that the 14-45mm kit lens is amazingly SLOW to focus and i've missed quite a few moments because of it. one of the main reason i bought the E-PL1 is to take photos of my "active" daughter and the slow auto-focus is really frustrating. i blame myself for missing the e-pl1 reviews which highlighted this problem prior to buying the camera.will it be better if i use the panny 20mm lens?i'm seriously frustrated with the performance and even considered of letting go the e-pl1 and get a D3100 instead. any advice sifus?? check this Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UPzhidedFU |

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Dec 15 2010, 06:18 PM) I do think the 20mm is faster than the 14-42mm oly kitlens. And I found that by switching off the AF lock beep, I feel the AF is faster. good tips faidz...20mm is really fast... and reminder to those who got E-PL1 having slow focus problem, please upgrade your firmware |

QUOTE(frequency @ Dec 17 2010, 11:05 PM) good tips faidz... Yes the 20mm is fast but sometimes the focus is not spot on. I find using my manual focus 35mm f1.4 get less errors and sometimes faster focus especially in low light conditions.20mm is really fast... and reminder to those who got E-PL1 having slow focus problem, please upgrade your firmware And yes i use single spot focus all the time. The FOV for the 20mm is a bit wide making the focusing spot a bit large for spot on focus of smaller objects further away. There r ways round this like activating manual focus after AF. Then again to view this fine tuned on the LCD is tricky so a EVF is a must. This post has been edited by nutrinos: Dec 18 2010, 08:35 AM |

hi all e-pl1 users,
any of you uses the Nissin Di466 flash? Need your help. It seems that the flash unit doesn't work with my e-pl1. All my photos came out as though no flash is fired. This result all my photos in pitch black. Tried in all shooting modes, changed new batteries. But the flash unit mounted does fires flash when I shoot. Really appreciate your advise here! Many thanks! |

Nice pics. For the second one, I think its better to increase the aperture a bit to let the whole cookie in focus. Same goes for the third one.

Couldn't tahan after playing with this today so now must eat maggi mee till CNY
The aperture and focusing dial is just so smooth and solid. I dont know how to explain it, just makes my Lumix G lens feel like toys now. Sorry for the bad pics, I took this photos in very low light using my 20mm F1.7 - couldnt wait till daylight to take a few shots and show off my excitement » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by idoblu: Dec 19 2010, 09:23 AM |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Dec 19 2010, 09:22 AM) Couldn't tahan after playing with this today so now must eat maggi mee till CNY I see the aperture scale 16/8/4:4/8/16 looks narrow. I would luv to see the hyperfocal scale set at infinity on the F16 mark (right side). The aperture and focusing dial is just so smooth and solid.
