@ahda why variance *(3^2) ?

1malaysia, universal set?
*
because every number in the set are multiplied by 3 and add with 10 , if the question is ask for new S.D,new interquartile range, and new range, we just need to multiply the original one by 3. For variance square of the k is needed.

I sucks in P1 Add Maths LOL..

OK! need help here

1. Given 8^(x-3) = 4^2x / 64 , find value of x

2. If it's given PA = 2PB .. The ratio is 2 for PA while 1 for PB ? or??

3. The vectors a~ and b~ are non-zero and parallel. It is given that (8h-1) a~ = (2k+8)b~ , where h and k are constant. Find the value of h and of k

4. It is given that sin teta = p , where p is a constant and 90 < teta < 180
Find in terms of p

a) sec teta
b) cos 2teta

5. Given y = ( x - 3 )^2 ( 2x - 5 ), find d^2y/dx^2

6. Two variables , x and y are related by the eq y = 2x^2 - 3 / x, find
dy/dx when x = 3 .

7. Given six letter cards

F R I E N D
--> Fours card are arranged to form four-lettered words.
Find, The probability that the words formed have all the consonants.

@Naz
1. Given 8^(x-3) = 4^2x / 64 , find value of x
2^3(x-3)=2^4x / 2^6
2^(3x-9)=2^(4x-6)
3x-9=4x-6
x=-3

2. If it's given PA = 2PB .. The ratio is 2 for PA while 1 for PB ? or??
PA/PB=2/1
PA:PB=2:1

3. The vectors a~ and b~ are non-zero and parallel. It is given that (8h-1) a~ = (2k+8)b~ , where h and k are constant. Find the value of h and of k
8h-1=0
h=1/8
2k+8=0
k=-4

4. It is given that sin teta = p , where p is a constant and 90 < teta < 180
Find in terms of p
sin teta=p, cos teta=-square root(1-p^2), tan teta=-p/square root(1-p^2)
a) sec teta=1/cos teta= -1/square root(1-p^2)
b) cos 2teta=1-2sin^2 teta =1-2p^2

5. Given y = ( x - 3 )^2 ( 2x - 5 ), find d^2y/dx^2
y=(x-3)^2 (2x - 5)
_=(x^2 -6x +9)(2x-5)
_=2x^3 - 5x^2 - 12x^2 +30x +18x - 45
_=2x^3 - 17x^2 + 48x - 45

dy/dx=6x^2 - 34x + 48
d^2y/dx^2=12x -34

6. Two variables , x and y are related by the eq y = 2x^2 - 3 / x, find
dy/dx when x = 3 .
y=2x^2 - 3/x
dy/dx=4x+3/x^2
_____=4(3)+3/9
_____=37/3

7. Given six letter cards

F R I E N D
--> Fours card are arranged to form four-lettered words.
Find, The probability that the words formed have all the consonants.
4P4=24

Well, that my answer, please tell me am i correct for these question. tongue.gif

If ogive , we need to have cumulative frequency and how about histogram ? Lower boundary and upper boundary ? If frequency ? Midpoint
