Phoenix sim is really good loh, compare to realflight i personally think that the 450pro in the sim is more closer to the real one. It's easier to adjust the control in the sim somemore, loads faster ....... I love it!!!

if you are very good in controlling the heli in the sim, i think should not be a big problem to fly FP heli

aerial video on a small plane/heli is hard to get a nice video ..... heheheh maybe a quadcopter provides more stability for a standard camera to work nicely?????
Added on August 4, 2011, 2:47 pm sigh, too busy and no time to start building my 250. Also partly because of the awful experience with the second hand one. Not really sure if it worth my effort to build the new one or not ..........

I have the experience on flybarred heli only, but I think for entry level you should go with the flybar heli. I was told that the flybarless small heli has very insignificant stability improvement, including the 450 size.
For a big heli like the 550 or 600 size, the flybar version also quite stable so you don't need investing a few hundred more for a flybarless. IMHO, flybarless heli is more for a 3D pilot ..........

Well, the sport version is fine for beginner to start with, but the tail is not that good enough for 3D flight. Based on what I heard, the tail would not hold rock solid like the PRO and slower because it is using belt.
If you don't mind the price difference for about RM200, go for the PRO ..... I have a fren and he has 3, 4 sport 450 but in the end he converted all to torque tube.
Better get the Super Combo package, else you really have to find out a lot what parts are suitable. Just get something that is flyable first lah, later crash here and there those superior components might have to change also .......

Think about the wiring if you want it to look nice ....... Visit helifreak website to learn how people builds it, especially finless bob's videos, super duper useful. Dont just watch the 450 build video, others like ccpm setup, geometry videos are very good to spend time with.

Damn, maiden the hk250 and also crash the heli. Until the tail case/hub, tail boom totally patah.
So lesson learnt, do not increase your throttle curve while reducing the gyro gain if you hav not tame your new heli. It was causing me a crash because the tail can't hold properly and unpredictable where it is going to yaw. Trying to land but crashed!!

It was because the tail behaving weird when i yaw at first. When i give it rudder it did not stop right away but instead bounce one time then only stop, kind a overshooting but pretty slow overshoot. Should not be a vibration issue here i think. So just tried to lower the gain to check and it was the fatal step i have done Now I suspect that the ball link is too close to the center at the servo horn. About 4.5mm which is recommended for trex 250se but going to move it one hole further ......

also not to forget to sand the edge of your carbon fiber frame. If it is too sharp it may cut your wire .......
