FYI, your forte only has 4speed and inspira has the CVT. come on, get real.

Also, let us see how your resale value will plummit once they launch the 6 speed auto rclxm9.gif
*
yup, mine is the old 4 spd Forte. i was refering to 6spd Forte which ald launched....heard alot of ppl ald booked the 6spd Forte...
CVT is juz for smooth acceleration and smooth gear change, as i mentioned.....got nothing 2 do with 4spd, 5spd, or 6spd.....
power of acceleration wise, still lose to conventional auto gearbox...

come on....read properly....all car are year 2005 as written.........

all car are in good condition........

all car are own by my friend....

my aveo friend wanna change car but in the end can't cause value drop like waterfall......

i hope you do not plan to change car as you will be keeping the forte for life....smile.gif
*
oh, ok...my bad...
problem is, owner sells and 2nd hand car shop sells in different price....
definitely owners sells in higher price, 2nd hand car will sure sell in very low price 1....
dun ever go 4 2nd hand car shop(if u r selling ur no resale value car)...coz not worth...
they makan u little, and sell it with xtra RM2-4k....c hw much they untung??

yup, i gonna keep that forte for life(at least 10 yrs above)...coz i m not the 1 who keep changing cars...
it's for my safety and can travel long distance....enuf d....i rather invest in property than wasting money on changing cars....

The Inspira has better acceleration off the line as well due to its 6 speed transmission
Both the 2L engine power is the same
*
my mistake then...inspira hv 6spd...bt for 2.0 only, right?

6 speed transmission? Inspira running on CVT transmission ler bro...
*
as i said, CVT gt nothing 2 do with how many spd u hv....
if DCG and CG got 6spd....then wat can u say??

K3nnYkl82 : Coz Proton is the cheapest brand in Malaysia...that's why...
shinjite : Agree, Evo X got....but I din c any Inspira Police Force here..yet
Maddriver : I am Malaysian alrite....the type of 'Katak dalam Tempurung'...haha
To tell u all the truth...this is quoted by 1 of my pastor's friend.....he said, exterior and space, Inspira is good...but Inside quality is juz a piece of plastic Junk..last saturday was his 1st time sat in a Forte(Mine) he said, at least Forte is worth for it's price, juz 2 disadvantages, which is NOT as spacious as Inspira, and No resale value...but advantages, he's really surprised to look at the build quality of Forte...
Eh, not juz me and him complain @@, there are quite a number of ppl complaining abt internal QA of Inspira as well....at least, 1st gen Proton Saga and Iswara internal build quality is much better than current ones(for me)...

hmmmm....guess HQ also knws nothing....
but at least a better 6spd conventional GB....
i think the 2.0 forte can fix proton's CVT gb right?? since they shared the same 4B11 engine block....not sure bt 1.6, hopefully can too...

20 years ago, indeed Japanese car quality are on par with Mercedes and BMW.
After 20 years, what Japanese cars on par with Mercedes and BMW are, the spart parts price and not much 3rd party foreman can service them. Everything can be on par but not quality.

100% AGREE!!!!
last time, yes....i owned a Toyota AE101 SEG 1.6M
so, i knw the quality between that car, and altis(both same segment and from Corolla class)

holy crap dude...

how old are u again?
ish..............

so for example if forte has crappy design, so i can just look at it and judge... lousy quality car?
doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
*
GET REAL!!

the problem is i had 2 ask u....the same question...how old r u??
do u think EMAS manufactured from Malaysia??? do u think it uses Local items?? If got, also won't use cheaplak things la....
think of it, any1 will interested in EMAS if uses cheaplak things like current protons?? it's in Italy, and do u think they will accept that??
they will juz say, another chepalang car...but y italian loves it?? y EMAS so many ppl love it? i dun think is bcoz of pure design and technology.
oh come on la....that's a concept car, so muz at least hv very good export quality things la.....

u try 2 look at local Wira and exported Wira.....are the quality the same?? if u say same, i would say u're an idiot!!
my fren's grandpa owned an exported version Wira, 1.6 version 1...until now, that car got no quality issue, not even rusted roof!!

i m not mean of judging by the look.....but plz, common sense la....who wans using cheaplak items 2 export??
judge by petrol, Petronas sells RON99, RON 1xx to other countries, u knw?? very good quality, but in Malaysia, they oni use RON92,95 and 97 only....

that's y Forte new facelift can't use the new GDI engine....y? bcoz of our petrol quality, even with current petrol quality, for current Forte also hv problems...
same goes 2 Hyundai's new Avante, also can't use the new GDI engine

I can't say that Proton cars are useless, infact, Exora is 1 of my favorite proton cars.
from wat i see, Inspira is a really good buy, market value can fight with Forte..juz the problem is the bank interest rate is way higher than Forte's..right? so, it means, Inspira cost more than Forte in installments.
that's the reason i see in Inspira.
Inspira for me, i think can service at mitsu SC, due 2 same spare parts availability. Mitsu release lancer way earlier than Inspira, therefore, they might have more technical issue/problem for it. Solve it easily 2..
In term of specs, definitely Forte wins hand down, but as for GB(including 6spd Forte), CVT will deliver more smooth accel than Forte, there's where Inspira win against Forte.
Both Protons and Naza had 2 improve their customer services. plainly i said they both SUCKS, compare to hyundai, toyota and nissan. anyway, u acually, can get Forte's spare parts, from Hyundai SC...surprise right? coz i asked some Hyundai SC, they all said can, but came with abit increase of price tag. Naza always put money no.1, business no.1...but they left out something which is the MOST important factor of all...customer's satisfaction services.
Each 1 had their own mind to choose their budget dream cars...so, gd luck for everyone!! smile.gif

Added on January 24, 2011, 1:30 pmQuality wise, i got no right to say who's better, but base on Gen2, Satria Neo, and savvy, same goes with Myvi, kelisa and kenari....Inspira quality wins them way lots better. coz in rating of those models, UK website like 5thgear, shows that their quality are really.....very very very very very horrible. in fact, either low or no rating at all....
Inspira is something they did for a change. i am glad proton improved that way. well, of coz for me....Forte is much more better quality than Inspira, that's my thought.
Hey, each person got different opinion/thoughts abt cars right? i am not trying 2 show off my Forte are being superior than Inspira. that's y i said at the beginning, i got no right of judging other ppl's opinion....that's my only thought, and i go for it, as a happy owner of Forte...

Added on January 24, 2011, 1:34 pmso, for me in terms of quality :
Perodua = Perodua Nautica(5 seaters of Toyota Rush, fully CBU)
Proton = Proton Inspira
KIA = Spectra5 and above
Hyundai = i10, i20, Avante X20 and above
Toyota = Rush, Hilux, Camry and other cars above 130k
Honda = Accord and beyond
Mitsu = Lancer GT, Grandis, Colt, Evos, Eclipse

i agree with ciohbu

for me, car depreciates every year...whether is 'TaHaN', still depreciates right?? unlike property. So, wat 4 getting a car with so called 'resale value' when it depreciates, and u ald waste more money for it to maintain it?? choosing a car is from ur heart. it's for SAFETY(my 1st concern, that's y Forte), comfort and with good FC(Forte 1.6 for me, compare with Inspira 1.8)
So, since i will waste more money than i pay for it, i guess resale value = nothing for me..

nice info here... totally agree with your opinion  smile.gif
resell value is not the only factor we should consider when buying a car... there are various things depending on your what you want/expect from a car  icon_rolleyes.gif
some ppl really look into this, but some ppl that thing doesnt matter... hmmm... from what i can see main setback for forte just ppl worried of its resell value which for me no big deal  whistling.gif

as long as you happy with your money spent over your driving experience...  thumbup.gif

juz frankly tell u all, LANCER and INSPIRA in term of RESALE VALUE, is TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!....hear that?? TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!
bcoz of BRAND which PULL DOWN the RESALE VALUE and the ORIGINAL PRICE of the car. thus, LANCER definitely 100% WILL have BETTER RESALE VALUE than INSPIRA....so, DON'T EVER COMPARE between those 2 models..

From what i see, FORTE definitely have BETTER VALUE than INSPIRA. why?? FORTE is a world recognized car, yet INSPIRA is NOTHING in this world, JUZ A REBADGE. can't u all see?? the price of FORTE is around RM12xk in SG, is SGD 5xxxx....so calculate urself....
the reason of CHEAP, is bcoz NAZA OWNS KIA...same, REBADGE..thus the price drops. in anyway, definitely both of them have lower resale value than others, coz of REBADGE...
Don't forget, FORTE is 2010's SG Top selling model....same goes with Malaysia(If compare to T&H C-Segment cars)
The reason of P1 and P2 forever being no.1 in Malaysia, coz of cheap, and spare parts availability...if WITHOUT these 2, P1 and P2 are NOTHING!!

I sold my 7 years spectra for 15k last 2 week, used car dealer quoted me 10k only.. Swt...
But I still chose for forte instead of inspira.. Because, I don't fxxking care about the resell value, who know it will better than other brand? I just want to buy the car I like the most.

Thanks for supporting KIA....xD

Added on January 25, 2011, 1:22 pmFor me, i think the BEST proton cars i've ever rated, is EXORA...coz I love the size of that MPV compare with Livina and Avanza

Bro, you just compared the Inspira and Lancer in this bold statement, and you ask people not to compare it? I am so bloody curious on how do you know Lancer will be 100% having better resale value than Inspira? Where you get this fact from? Can you tell me what is total difference in terms of resale value between those cars? Please answer these questions and dont go beating around the bush.

You want to whack please whack with some facts, not with some logic that you think its true in your own world.
*
Coz i had fren who owns LANCER GT 2.0 ??? and he asked abt hw much is car value in 2nd hand cars?? and with me?? duh!! if i dunno abt it, wat 4 i said it? 1 year old LGT still had around 100k++ leh..
If Inspira?? i bet 1 year will only have 60k++ for 2.0 model....

Yea ok.

Forte better in everything i guess and totally agree with u. The resale value will not be an issue since this is new generation of korean car compared to spectra, elantara (just to name a few).

Forte also offers a good package with the bodykit + 17" rim + keyless entry + + +

Cant figure out why the argument of this topic is still on as its obvious that forte is better in term of everything - the peoples choice award, safety rating and the list continues. It is not too much as well to say forte is better than city and vios. The T & H is winning just due to peoples perception on the brand.
