QUOTE(ckk125 @ Feb 5 2011, 10:55 PM) i did not say anything about soul, i am stating the obvious difference between CVT and conventional slushbox. Of course it matters. Else, why buy expensive car right? which ever wins or loses makes no difference. do u grow taller if i say that 6GB wins due to the SOUL factor? Well, then it is better. |

QUOTE(kevin23 @ Feb 5 2011, 11:09 PM) Hahahahahahaha, someone said Forte has European SOUL? LOL! F U C K Y O U!!!!! DAMN KEVIN!!!! PLEASE STOP PUTTING MY NAME ON THE LIST U M.f***A..Biggest joke of the century! PLs i test drove Forte 1.6 countless times. In terms of gadgets ,yes its got plenty. In terms of driving experience,it TOTALLY FAILED! Its not even close to Proton.Proton drives so much better.Mind you,I hate Proton so much. But Proton driving experience is way better than KIA. Inspira doesnt have the gadgets but the engine is phenomenal and the gearbox is so damn freaking smooth! The suspension is amazing,it absorbs all road irregularities like nobodys business. If I had to pick a Proton or a Kia this time,I would 100% pic Proton Inspira simply because it drives amazingly and has pure Jap soul inside of it. The Kia has the looks and gadgets, but drives with the soul of a 20 year old Korean car.Its just not there yet.Its not even close to any Jap make let alone European make. I know, all the usual suspects like XionCity will come to protect his beloved Forte.I am bored of that, can you just accept the fact about ur car?! STOP BASH KOREAN CARS!!!!!!! GO AHEAD WITH YOUR BELOVED NHC.....f***A BASHER!!!!!! TEST DRIVE 1.6 COUNTLESS TIMES SO WHAT?!?!?!?! THAT IS YOU, NOT OTHERS!!!!OTHER PPL LIKE FORTE OR INSPIRA IS THEIR OWN!!! YOU GOT YOUR OWN NHC, SO GET THE f*** OUT!!!!!! DAMN....YOU ARE GETTING MORE RUDE THAN EVER!!!! Added on February 6, 2011, 12:02 am QUOTE(gogo2 @ Feb 5 2011, 11:33 PM) You drove a 4 speed Forte. Conventional Auto gearbox with never win CVT gearbox....might only win in 1st and 2nd gear, then 3rd to 6th, CVT kiss conventional bye bye.....Currently 6 speed Forte gearbox is so smooth that it is better than CVT and make a statement that says, why need CVT if got 6 speed GB. Forte do have Audi soul since the designer are previous Audi designer. So its better than Japan soul. As a matter of fact, Japan car has no soul ever since they become top car manufacturer. They lost their soul until their car cannot break and causing death. Jap soul in Proton Inspira? hahaha... and some information 2 u all.... current fortes dun hv CVT(Although is 6 spd)...BUT!!! Forte Hybrid LPi came with CVT gearbox.... Added on February 6, 2011, 12:05 am QUOTE(gogo2 @ Feb 6 2011, 12:32 AM) yea, all he knows is bashing koreans....whenever korean manufactured, he bash....including Samsung, LG.....and alot moreCybermaster89 formally korean basher also, but he's turn now to appreciate korean stuffs....at least i can c in him... kevins only bash...damn hate him.... ahahah...and he tot his new city is so keng enuf to bash every other car out there...face the fact...u f***ing bought a 90k car 1.5 which u can f***ing add another 2k for a 2.0 inspira with better engine, better gearbox, better chasis, better interior and a much better, well, priced car
a CVT is there to replace conventional gearbox for a reason...no matter 5 speed 6 speed o 7 speed...normal auto gearbox pulls better at 1st...and also mayb 2nd....but there's time consuming shift time also,so if the gearbox is lousy and it doesnt shift fast enuf, its gonna be left bhind ok...korean cars are catching up really fast, and of coz with very attractive price...but still have to face it...those newer auto makers are copy paste of watever there is in the market already.tats y they dont have to be at high price which those euro and japs auto maker have to do with intense RnD for parts and technology...this is why u see the LFA is so damn expensive...all the money paid into RnD of making the car Inspira is cheap because Mitsubishi has did all the RnD on the lancer and most of problematic parts has been solved by mitsubishi...proton just sign the design and everything over and then add a bit of this and tat to it so tat its Proton...cant really bash proton for this because i would say many out there would love to have mitsubishi technology than proton's own rnd technology |

wow, this thread is very much alive and kicking eh.....
it's really fun to read and know what is each person's preference and how they view both cars (bashes aside). my friend jst booked a Forte 6speed auto and will have to wait till after CNY to get it. as for me, if i were to choose after test drive both cars, i'll choose FORTE 6speed also. the car is really super quiet, IMHO. even though the resale value might be bad for now, i hope given enough time, e.g. 3-5 years down the road, FORTE/Avante/Sonata can bring up the korean cars value. but it's a big gamble i guess. anyhow, i decided to go for MPV, rather than forte or inspira due to my new requirements. thx for all the valuable inputs so far. ^Well, if buy car based on resale value, it is stupid.... And if every 2-3 years change car, at the end of day, who's the biggest loser? For me, a car life's start after 5 years where this will be a very important factor as changing parts, maintenance comes in to play...
