1)is Yes 4g = Wimax ?
2)who is the owner of 4G and/or Wimax ? Ytle/YtlC/YtlP ?

icon_rolleyes.gif YTLE's most prized asset is its 2.3GHz Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) spectrum in Peninsular Malaysia, which is owned through Y-MAX Networks Sdn Bhd.

thumbup.gif YTLE Key Subsidiaries

Extiva Communications Sdn Bhd
Infoscreen Networks Plc
Y-Max Networks Sdn Bhd
Airzëd Services Sdn Bhd

thumbup.gif ABOUT Y-MAX NETWORKS SDN BHD

Y-Max Networks Sdn Bhd has a Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) 2.3GHz wireless broadband access spectrum license for Peninsular Malaysia, issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Y-Max Network's ownership of 2.3GHz WiMAX spectrum, ensures that it will be at the forefront of the Malaysian Government's drive to increase broadband penetration, boost the knowledge economy and narrow the digital divide in Malaysia. This spectrum has already been utilised in a limited deployment of a WIMAX enterprise connectivity service to selected businesses in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur, an introductory service focused on providing high-speed enterprise data and wireless broadband access to a selected number of corporate clients.

The 2.3GHz WiMAX spectrum will facilitate WiMAX mobility services to be rolled out in Malaysia, enabling end-users to enjoy a significantly enhanced roaming experience, making WiMAX a major platform for next generation converged communication services, capable of delivering fast, wide-coverage, and ubiquitous and always-connected voice, data and video services. The Group shares its WiMAX spectrum with YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, which is a builder and owner of 4G WiMAX infrastructure in Peninsular Malaysia.

wub.gif Hope this helps brother mopster........cheers. wub.gif

thumbup.gif So, 1 final word...go for YTLE.

Are we sure we are getting the facts right? If I'm not wrong, YTLe is just like a service company that service YTL Comm Wimax roll out. The reason why YTLe looks more of a safer bet is because whether Wimax successfully roll out or not YTL Comm still have to pay them right? So....losing money or not, they still get paid, while YTL Comm only profit if the Wimax plan is successful. The same goes to YTLP who owns YTL Comm. At least this is what my friend working in YTL told me.
*
ya that's roughly how the merry-go-round works

YTLP got the most at risk because of the high capex YTLComms needs and if they go down the route that P1 took then YTLP's shares would be hit as well. YTLE untung liao but the true value probably not even worth past 1.40 so its riding on a bit of hot air.

YTLe is the one hold the Wimax license/specturm from gov, as far as I remembered.

So YTLcom lease from YTLe?
*
I thought all the while YTLComm is the one holding the spectrum? Last time YTL Comm under YTLe, if I can remember correctly

i think last year YTLP bought over YTLE's 60% share of privately-owned YTLComms.

Haha YTLE PER already 260x, its all about the speculation momentum. Competition fierce or not doesn't really matter anymore for now. At least until the bubble burst. rclxms.gif

Broadband business is not as lucrative as most people think of, mainly due to high capex issue.
But "yes" does sign up infrastructure lease with TM, so could save up a lot on this issue.

Look at P1, despite say have >200k subscribers, it is still reporting losses after losses for consecutive Q for sometimes already.

Malaysia market is not that huge though.
