QUOTE(earthling1984 @ Jan 10 2011, 10:11 PM) Dunno if you guys have this problem, but everytime i change channel from hd to normal it will downsize the screen to 4:3. So i have to change it everytime i change the channel! It's so annoying...any solution to it? Thx... 4:3 is the original aspect ratio for SD channelyou can however stretch it to fill the whole screen by changing byond TV setting, negative side effect is that all SD channels will become fatter This post has been edited by neb: Jan 10 2011, 10:23 PM |

QUOTE(flea6453 @ Jan 11 2011, 12:53 PM) 2) all my HD channel got permanent msg appear saying 'copy protection failed'. annoying la to watch movie like dis. hehehe. (i tried to browse this thread but too many pages and i ended up nowhere... help....) 3) i'm using sony bravia dunno what model (but very old ones la). i see got hdmi channel. but the astro installer connet the red-white-yellow wires to my previously used 'video1' lobangs. is this correct? i tot astro hd should use hdmi channel...? am i getting a low-quality hd channel like this? or may be a pin is squashed up in your byond HDMI socket, ask for your byond box replacement for audio problem, HDMI or digital audio can not adjust volume, only analog stereo audio volume can be adjusted |

QUOTE(flea6453 @ Jan 11 2011, 02:36 PM) thanks eMKs, connect red/white analog audio rca socket from byond to your TV, then use your byond remote control to adjust audio volume, asmention on my previous post, sounded like repeating myself so that means, the remote control audio from the tv, not the decoder eh? looks like i'm dead. because my tv set was a gift from my brother. he said that tv is meant for display only. so it doesnt come with remote control. all the while i had to manually press the button on top. buying pasar malam remote control also useless since he said, no signal receiver installed in that tv set... adui.. nevertheless, i'll try to do that programming thing tonight. as for the HDCP, how do i know whether my tv support HDCP or not? and what's the latest firmware? i tot mine is the latest la since they just pasang my byond yesterday... |

QUOTE(lotus_man @ Jan 17 2011, 09:18 PM) Hello everyone, byond box in bedroom, yet HDTV in living room, why did you separate them?currently I have astro b.yond that is connected to the satellite dish in the master-bed room. However, i just bought a new 50' tv which is located at the living room. I am able to receive astro over there BUT d HD channels are really horrible. If i were to purchase another b.yond box, how would the process be? Would i be charged extra every month/ is it 2 seprate accounts or what? thanks in advance! put them together in the same room and hook them up with HDMI cable, you should get good quality HD channels |

talking about mandarin, the north western mandarin slangs are very hard to understand, like they are from mars LOL
actually current state of mandarin was the chinese slang spoken by the Manchurian who ruled china during the qing dynasty who had their own and entirely different spoken and writing language than Han people, compare to earlier ming dynasty they spoke with jiangsu slang, originated from one of the Three Kingdom slang This post has been edited by neb: Jan 23 2011, 01:52 PM |

QUOTE(pokemon @ Jan 23 2011, 01:47 PM) Wah Lai Toi is a cantonese channel and there are more mandarin channels on Astro platform too. If there is demand for Hakka, Teochew and etc, I believe Astro would add those channels in future. Hua Hee Tai is a hokkien channels Astro added years back. on-board satellite asiasat 3S, there is one free teochew channel, may be astro can re-boradcast it to us, they speak their teochew so fluently and fast that is very hard to keep pace with themWhat mandarin movies are you referring to showing in Cantonese on Astro? and which astro channels then? also one free hakka channel on-board singtelSat 1 This post has been edited by neb: Jan 23 2011, 02:42 PM |

QUOTE(MyDevil @ Jan 26 2011, 02:50 PM) I have a 3 Astro accounts under my name. Applied to upgrade to Byond for 2 of them last month. After 1 month, they can only install 1 Byond and activated after 2 days it seems like astro is still migrating their accounting database What is worst is that they cancelled the wrong smartcard/account! Resulting my mom cannot watch Astro for days. Her decoder has not changed to Byond yet. Many calls have been made and yet they can't seems to correct their mistake. |

asto should offer free satellite TV something similar to uk's freesat, where there is no subscription and no contract, just a one-off payment for the digital box
if you are astro customer, think more like what a customer should do This post has been edited by neb: Feb 14 2011, 02:03 PM |
