Astro afraid that they will lose and public will know the truth. That why they are going to settle out of court  laugh.gif

it is actually stated in their contract, dispute must go through arbitration first

I think astro has switched off your HDMI port, since you have requested to terminate HD service, now you can only use either component video or composite video to connect to your HDTV

i've been experiencing problem of able to watch SD Astro programs only during the night

before calling astro contract installer to do the re-alignment(will cost you RM50), you can do the diy check on the 2 F-connectors, one on the LNB, another behind the decoder, make sure they are tightly screw on, loose connection can cause intermittent reception problem

no 3D HDTV no problem, cross your eyes when watching twin-screen 3D braodcast, eventually eyes fatigue will trick your brain into seeing 3D image even without 3D glasses, try it! LOL

anybody here experience suddenly while watching astro, the sound gone while the picture turn discoloured.... i hv to turn off and on again the decoder... it already happen everyday... 3-4 time a day...
*
before calling astro for a replacement, you can change to another HDMI cable to check if your problem is cable related, another thing to check is proper ventilation, byond box run quite hot even in standby mode

my byond box has acquired a few accessories along the way such as tesco HDMI cable and laptop USB cooling pad, so far running smoothly thumbup.gif

Ned,

B.yond box being hot is a good thing. That means the heat is dissipated by the box's surface effectively. Just ensure that the box is not enclosed in a closed box.

Thanks!

hot is good? hmm.gif if you said so

on my book, running hot in standby is bad

They don't have enough transponders at MEASAT-3A.   The capacity leased out to India already.
*
astro has reserved and paid for the 6 transponders out of 12 on-board measat 3A, has astro used up all the transponders already? they should have enough capacity for broadcasting 30 mpeg4 HD channels, currently they are only using half of the total capacity

Bear in mind that measat 3A also lease Ku band transponders to India paytv, eg., suntv.  How many still available then?
*
you could be right, astro may have sub-let their share of transponders to other broadcaster, so bad news guys, no more new HD channels from astro until new satellites are launched yawn.gif

I went to astro hd setting and the max I can set is 1080i. Why not 1080p? What's the different?
*
you want byond in 1080p, sure can no problem, just set your byond in 1080i and your Full HD TV will de-interlace it to 1080p thumbup.gif
