astro's subtitle font is super ugly, more like printer's dot-matrix font, unlike subtitle font from taiwan or hongkong tv shows, they are smooth and beautifully formed

BTW, why SDI Media not provide close caption subtitle?

Added on November 21, 2010, 12:23 ami disagree with u mate..lets say..u say learning package have more subscriber than news package rite? then why would astro pamper the customers they already have? im saying that if news package is the package that has the lesser number of subscribers, astro would try and get in some more money than they already have..get new subscribers to a package lacking customers..

put in a new HD channel in the news package could raise a number of new subscribers to the package..if they listen to their customers, surely by now Discovery HD would be on their list since so many people love it..but do we see any Discovery HD now? No..popular among subscriber means nothing to astro..Go on their FB page and see how many people are angry there is no NBA on any channels..popular but nothing done thus far..

Astro only care about their wallet, not based on what we need or what are popular. As long as the channel are cost less to them but can generate more profit afterwards, this is astro playbook.

Same goes to NBA or even Channel V.....astro doesn't care a less. The baseline are profit must greater than the cost (fees).

Exactly my point so for me, astro would probably attack News, Fun, Variety, Metro and other packages that still has no HD content/channel so that they gain more subscribers=more money..giving current subscribers more HD channels does not= more money for astro

The best way to make astro listen is mass cut off of the sports pack, why not an online petition once abt 25000 signatures collected we pproduce it to them to act if not we all downgrade sports pack !!We can make it its in our hands !

just wondering..ur not a sports pack subscribers are u? just asking coz i feel that u dont have that package and ur not interested in it anyways..my issue with ur suggestion is that, sports package subscribers have no problems with the package..

yes..NBA is a very big issue now as many NBA fans are not happy its not on astro..but other than that? what im trying to say is, ur suggesting for a sports package subscribers to downgrade..for what? yes it will hurt astro as the package has the most number of subscribers..but how many subscribers are willing to do so? they wont get any benefit from it..

and seriously..u think astro will listen? astro as the one and only company in the country have all the power to do what they want..fine..we get 25000 signature to downgrade sports package..well..astro will then just go on and increase the price of other packages that u have..who can stop them?

My brother accidently switched off the main plug. When I switched on the main plug the b.yond doesn't boot. Help?

I said goodbye to sports pack after WC. The power is with us we can make the difference, what happen to Indonesia when astro wanted full control of EPL, it was kicked out of the country cos FTA stations carry EPL, so no point talking , do it ,60% of sports subscribers can make a difference,believe me ! If you can put up with astro's offerings in the sports pack and u are satisfied pls continue I am only refering to disatisfied friends.

Try another power socket. If still doesn't work, then decoder is damaged.

Phone astro and they will replace for free (I think),.

The little box's light is lit, and is connected to the decoder and I left it for a while and it was hot so I'm assuming there is current flowing.

Phoned Astro Customer Service and they are sending a technician within 48 hours. Thanks anyway guys

i actually agree with both of u guys arguments and points. I agree with ur point that astro sports pack does have the biggest number of subscribers. N a big reduction of subscribers dropping the package will definitely worry astro. and the power is definitely in the hands of the customers who can force the change. However, bro CTU is also right in saying if sports pack subscribers are happy with their sports pack and are not so bothered about other astro problems, they wont simply want to drop the sports pack especially as there will be no guarantee's astro will actually do something good in return.

Customers can do so much but at what cost and how much do astro care is the real questions that need to be answered
