You are saying it is possible to live without Astro HD because there are other things in life to do/play/have fun etc. So I am saying, why do you stop at Astro HD? Why not get rid of the HDTV altogether?

Currently the Astro tech installing beyond at my house.My wife out to office and let my grandma look at them.The question is,what is different between beyond and astro sd remote control.How to use beyond remote control.same with astro sd remote.

very hard to switch on my beyond decoder..when in standby mode to long."boot" display appear.then push power button and wait until clock display.then push the power button back.compare with sd decoder just push any number button.you can enjoy the movie.Any short cut move..

dun switch off la...put oni on standby....if put 'standby' too long, my byond not reboot itself...others?

actually when i push the power button..it's a standby mode..when the clock is show..but in the morning when i wake up.the decoder show "boot".

it seems like you box did not boot successfully, try power cycling your box (ie. turning the power supply off then on again)

if still no go, I think you may have a defective byond, ask astro for a new replacement

byond box boot up time is a bit long, like media player. you can only turn it on when clock is displayed after boot.

btw, byond box consume 15-18W regardless during standby, power on or recording. Not sure about PVR tho.

ayo...being hit already.But the video output is ok.just the "boot" symptom is my problem.O dont wan't every morning wake up and need to wait to enjoy HD.
