Just sent in my C7 to the care centre at Amcorp in PJ, there was a lady there that told me she had the same problem, and they told her that her motherboard needs to be replaced, takes 2 weeks...

Apparently she wrote a complaint letter to Nokia headquarters, and all they told her was that they'll 'take note', and that Nokia Malaysia's policy is that they DO NOT replace phones..

This is getting ridiculous. How can Nokia sell defective products and refuse to replace them?

I had similar issue with my wife's C7 that I purchased for her birthday. It became dysfunctional within a day of purchase. It reset automatically and would not turn on. If it did turn on, it would hang for unknown reasons. I estimated that my wife was able to use her Nokia C7 less than 10 hours of the 7 days when it was in our possession before I sent it for Nokia service center. It was the worst purchase that I ever made because this handset is dysfunctional since it was shipped from Nokia factory. It seems that there is systemic problem with this Nokia C7 if one were to do goggling on "Nokia C7 hang".

Ultimately, I have sent my wife's C7 to 1Utama Nokia service center. I was informed that they are still waiting for 'motherboard' and the estimated time for Nokia to have some sort of fix my wife's brand new handset is at least 1 month. I overheard that the 1Utama service has already received 50+ returned C7 within a week of its launching date.

I felt cheated and very upset with this kind of quality expected from this supposedly world leader in handphone. I have been their most loyal customer for the past 10 years. I have never considered purchasing other brands except Nokia due to its quality and ease of user interface.

My experience was like purchasing a luxury car but you are unable to start the car for the next one month till the manufacture replace the engine. In the meantime, your hard earned money has gone to this supposedly world class company's pocket. They have NOT even offered to exchange their broken C7 handset with brand new one. It seems that Nokia think that their fumed customer can wait patiently for months to get their new handset fix. Due to Nokia's incompetency, my wife has to continue using her old handset which was supposed to be replaced by her new 'high tech' Nokia C7.

The decision by Nokia to launch this dysfunctional handset (and never publicly acknowledging their mistake or offering new replacement to affected customers) has lost one loyal buyer for good. I will never consider Nokia as my first choice handset after this experience.

Having the same problem, use the phone for less than 2 days. then need to wait for a month. spending so much and need to wait for a month. And yet, we lost 1 month warranty just for waiting...... (when we receive back the phone, it become only 11 month warranty left.....) sad.gif

We are in the same boat unfortunately:-(.

What I can't understand is the Nokia official statement that the problem is only related to few customers and it is under warranty. So essentially Nokia is telling us (customers) that we have to wait for a month before we eventually can get on our brand new fully paid C7 handset.

If I knew beforehand that anyone purchasing brand new C7 will be required to part from his handset and immediately send his dysfunctional but beautiful handset for one month ICU repair, I will NEVER purchase such a product in the first place. It doesn't matter whether the product has 10 or 100 years of warranty. A brand new product is simply supposed to work and not under ICU.

If the C7 handset is not ready for customer shipment due to its hardware/software bugs, Nokia is "supposed" to postphone the scheduled shipment. If the bugs were discovered after the shipment, Nokia is "supposed" to offer immediate replacement or money back just like its competitor Apple did recently. Nokia should NEVER ask its loyal customers to wait endlessly another 4 weeks on his fully paid handset. Unless it is the customer's fault for trusting the "quality" of leading hand phone brand.

I bought the Nokia C7 a few days back, and it hanged more than 10 times on the first day!

I did a google search, and it turns out that hundreds of other people are experiencing the same problems:

1. Phone hangs then restarts after a few seconds

2. Unable to download and/or use apps from the Nokia OVI Store

3. Worst one - phone hangs, shuts down, then cannot be started up again for a while, like 30 minutes to a few hours

These problems occur VERY frequently.

Apparently Nokia rushed the launching of these phones to compete with Android based phones before complete testing has been done, so the software is still in its early stages. No sign of when the new software version will be released.

You can check out this forum to see some of the complaints and Tim Allen, Product Manager of the C7 itself posts about the phone:

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96993
P/S: The C7 is REALLY nice to use, touch screen is responsive, interface is smooth and beautiful, so if you really want one, I suggest you wait until the problems are fixed.

actually, it all depends a little on our luck though. got my friends using slider phone, still solid till now, although 2 years++ passed by d. most slider will start to make jokes when they are 1 years. so, maybe its just most malaysian are unlucky.. laugh.gif
the factory machine to manufacture this model still new. if u see car engine, the first time u buy the car, need to service more often cuz it has some chances to broke. machine are mostly like that. give it some chances, it will improve in times nod.gif

I'm not encountering all the bugs mentioned.

I'm encountering lack of REASONABLE games taking advantage of this phone feature... Ovi games are most sucky!

Anybody out there can PM me good games for C6-01? Many thanks in advance. laugh.gif

One advantage for nokia n8 are video and sound quality when recording you will not get this quality in IP4. Versatile mini camcorder with excellent audio

Latest update, my C7's been in the Nokia "Care" Centre for about 2 weeks. Called them, and they told me that "it's a global problem", and that I have "no choice but to wait".

So now, no refund, no replacement, just waiting for Nokia to get off their arses and do something.

Been a loyal Nokia consumer for years, but this may be the last time I buy anything Nokia.
