Yes. I am using the logitech hub. But i think its not really that useful. Just plug in the HDD with the movies you wanna watch. No point powering on all the HDD as it consume power and shorten the life of the HDD.

For the new WDTV Live S.
Can you actually use the custom theme like Aeonish that's actually made for WDTV Live Hub?

u can use customised theme ..... but needs to be tailored for the Live Streaming. apparently, it just involves some minor tweaking to the Live Hub templates. some are already available ... e.g. Mojo theme. Not sure about Aeonish. Not following the news on themes.

i'm guessing it's a failure to reboot the firmware properly. my suggestion is to try to do a factory reset. there is a pinhole reset button at the back, if i remember correctly. however, bear in mind that after a factory reset, u have to update your firmware all over again. my 2 cents.

but the box should still boot up and work properly even if there's no network connection. in his case, it doesn't even get past the WDTV bootup logo, which would indicate to me that the firmware failed to load, hence the unit is rendered unresponsive to any command.

did u do something prior to this failure? e.g. updated to new firmware but did not complete? or played with custom firmware and now reverting to official firmware? is yr wdtv live hooked up to the home network and can u access the box through a remote browser on a pc/notebook?

it would help if u shared more info. it shouldn't just "stop working" all of a sudden. sounds like u have a corrupt firmware perhaps.

That is why you need to buy good USB hub that comes with power supply.
