Just bought WDTV Live today for RM259. works great so far!
However... I been reading about plug-ins and firmware updates. would they help with - 1) Volume controls 2) Time search (eg. if i want to go to a certain time in the movie)
After i bought then i discovered i dont have that 'Go-To' function that normally is in dvd players.sigh.
Thanks for any help!

Mind sharing where you bought it for Rm259? Anyway, what happen to Brad's firmware. Never updated anymore. Looks like Sigma is losing out to realtek as almost all the new player out there have Realtek chipsets.
Got it at Thunder Match at Berjaya Times Square. i think that's the price for the last coupla months. i know when i checked before it was 299 or 315 at Low Yat Plaza. Liking it more and more as it can play all files and convert 720p, 1080p, to play on my SD tv

QUOTE(EightPhantomz @ Aug 15 2011, 02:37 PM) Am thinking of upgrading my old WDTV to LIVE. Issit worth the change? Or should I go for other brands instead? Reasons of upgrading is the ethernet port. Tired of going back and forth updating my external drives. And the Youtube etc features. i got mine a couple months ago and its a great buy! i upgraded to wdlxtv firmware and now it can do so many things - music and video streaming, youtube, etc. worth the price!

Anyhow, want to ask to all, am thinking of using LAN cable to connect from router to the wdtv. If I open a movie which is at my PC, will it be faster to load? How fast? Thanks!
Am using LAN to connect to router - no lags even with blue-ray rip files on my WDTV Live. LAN should always be better with high bitrate files. i read on WDTV / WDLXTV forums that wi-fi can be laggy sometimes?
