guys, which is better..

1. WD tv live hub 1tb or WD tv live + 1tb passport essential?

2. I noticed from wd website stated that WD tv live hub HDMI 1.4 while WD tv live HDMI 1.3. what is the difference? if my cable 1.3 means cannot support WD tv live hub?
*
wdtv live hub has a bit improvement over wdtv live..
it got gigabit connection at the back (for faster files copy/transfer)..
it has built in hard drive..
it has buit in media stream to stream movies..

The rest are same..

2) Currently, it doesnt make any different. It's more like for future products.
1. HDMI 1.4 support higher resolution compared to 1.3 (much much higher than HD resolution, which is
pretty much no use for us for the time being)
2. HDMI 1.4 totally supports 3D while 1.3 only supports 3D in 1080i
3. HDMI 1.4 can transfer audio in 2 ways. eg from dvd player to tv and at the same time, from tv to dvd player..
4. HDMI 1.4 has an Ethernet channel while 1.3 does not

WDTV Live can read off multiple HDD when configured properly. I have severals HDD, so far no problem but I dunno anything about probox 4 bay hdd.

depends on your wallet!

For me value for money is WDTV Live cos I already have a server & dun need the addition 1TB or facebook or HDMI 1.4.

WDTV Live is about RM299 vs WDTV Live HUB@RM699, so you see your needs and requirement.

When you say configured properly, it is on WDTV Live or the enclosure itself? thanks

I think both wdtv live and wdtv hub live have the same capability (can read multiple hard disk)...

But my WDTV Live can only read only 1 HDD (using probox). Any idea how to resolve it? thanks

i'm currently using this one (WL552USB 150Mbps).. it works flawlessly. I'm thinking to get upgrade to the same model with 300Mbps version, but I don't know it'll work or not..

Added on April 8, 2011, 7:38 pmNew official firmware has been released! time to upgrade again..

Think WD is phasing this model out. According to some dealers feedback to WD is here, Malaysian wan RMVB play back doh.gif
Anyway I just bought additional 3 more for my friends at RM290 as we not RMVB kaki at the recent PC Expo. We more into mkv containers. We are hooking the WDTV Live via LAN to a server.

Since the beginning of this year, wdtv live is getting harder and harder to get. I wonder why.

YCbCr is normally the safest...It avoids conversions in the display (caveat : normally)
