I need help.

Just bought a wd tv live last week. Everything was working fine until now. There is output of video BUT no sound at all. Anyone have a solution to it?

I'm using hdmi as output for video and audio to my samsung tv. Upgraded to the latest firmware.

I tried off and on as well as reset my comp for sharing the files.

Go to
setting -> Audio/Video -> Audio Output -> Select stereo
if you select digital, the audio will come out through optical
output only.

strange thing is that - when i connect only hdmi to tv, i only can get sound if i choose digital (all others no sound), but if the audio format is HD audio, i can't get any sound output, i guess i must connect it using the red and white cable (for this set i only have a non hdmi amp which has no optical input)

Thanks. I found out was my tv settings problem. Some how renaming the source could disable the audio system. Dumb of me.

So far so good. I'm enjoying it. Didn't realise it never play .flv format.

Maybe  it's a hardware problem.. bcoz, all the movies are decoded by realtek chip, not a software..
I guess it's time for you to upgrade.. and if you decide to throw it away, try to open up the
player first and see if you can find a clue.. maybe there's a small lizard or ant fried inside your player..

You could also try to contact WD.. maybe they can help..
*
Are you sure WD is using realtek chipset?

which is suppose to be better than realtek (eg:ac ryan)
Correct me if im wrong.

HDMI cable also carries audio, digital audio. You'll hear the sound if the lcd can decode the audio format. In your case, you didn't hear HD audio because you tv doesn't support hd audio decoding. As for my lcd, I cannot hear audio at all eventhough I've tried all the audio settings. I guess my LCD is too old already. I bought it when the lcd price was still expensive.

Oh.. really sorry.. it's sigma isn't it? Thanks for correcting me. One of the difference is,
one can play RMVB while another one cannot.

One question from me, does it support 3TB hard disk using the official firmware?

To clear the confusion, only DTS sound has problems because it requires decoding which some LCD/plasma or hifi don't have .... this requires downmix to stereo and output via red/white cables (not hdmi).
