sharpness of image depends on what ? i always see nikon's image is sharper than canon..  (

Have you tried playing around with the sharpness settings under Picture Styles? I set to to as high as 5 on my 40D as the default settings aren't sharp enough for my liking.

edit: d reason y it is hard to shoot is d lighting is using few headlights of cars... make d lighting kinda weird. it is an outdoor photoshoot though

Maybe you can share the EXIF for the pics? I think you should've used spot metering, then dial down to even a stop of exposure compensation to get a faster shutter speed, at least 1/100 needed here. Then bring it up again in PP later. The background cars are distracting anyways.. you only need the lights to be shown right.
