n8 shots so nice? seriously on auto mode?

anyways, i found a thread in lowyat, seller name ebiz2u, he recently msg me that 16gb class 10 microsd is currently available, so future dual/triple booters want to organize a bulk ><? My internet is totally rubbish so i don dare organize it.

the discount depends on how many is purchased,
normal price is RM150 including postage, i consider it quite cheap oredi, but im quite sceptical on kingmax brand
*
kingmax should be ok...

better than brands like DNA...

super_evil_alien already going on with 8GB class 10 bulk. kingmax as well...

but 16GB class 10 for RM150 is a bargain as well...

Temporary solution is install multiboot & choose which kernel to load when booting up.
It's not exactly convenient but this is only this is the only solution I can think of till the hen kernel integrated in titans kernel.

wow..16GB class 10 for RM150 is really a good bargain..but yes, i doubt the quality as well coz there's still no local review about it..if there's any current user who are using Kingmax, kindly give your review about it..huhu..

but if bulk prchase should get cheaper right?

@everyone: Anybody heading to Lowyat or PJ Digi Mall in the next few days? Wanna ask for help to see the prices of 4-16GB miniSD or microSD cards WITH A MINISD ADAPTOR.

I'm not gonna be in KL until the school hols start so anyone can help? Now suffering for choosing a 2 year old device using an outdated mass memory slot (miniSD).

And unlike you guys with huge built-in eMMCs, the 810 only has 2GBs built-in lol. How to download easy debian image or play with nitdroid/ubuntu/mer?

huzzah guys!,
I'm testing myself with beta usb-otg..wonder still not working with my usb drive.
then, my pl-11 coming in from poslaju, wanna take a pic with fcam and "oh my, otg dun have fcam drivers yet. so i'm gonna remove this app. Guess wat, after remove, I'm granting myself a rootfs reflash due to reboot loop rclxms.gif

lucky I got a backup last saturday which nothing to lose right now (apart from losing time to redownload all apps back, sigh)

anyways, any steps can be taken other than reflash or "u should study, google blablabla"? wonder if can access command line to reinstall vanilla kernel back which sound impossible to say. LOL
Ok, probably the solution might be reflash the kernel only:

sudo ./flasher-3.5 -F <firmware-image> --flash-only=kernel -f -R (yeah, I know its in linux LOL).

windows will be liek this

flasher-3.5.exe -F R.bin --flash-only=kernel -f -R

Anyone can verify this is correct?

With kamikaze style i had in heart, I run the command and voila!
its alive!

perhaps Super_Evil update the command for kernel reflash on FP? or izzit already there? whistling.gif

@mwirs77: tried gnumeric already?
*
If you know which file causing the reboot loop you can try patching that file.No need to reflash.
Don't think there is "soft reset" method like symbian devices...
Flashing root is the easiest way to solve the corrupted system files problem.

QUOTE(mwirs77 @ Nov 8 2010, 12:09 PM)
err.. guys.. can any 1 tell me what is d free apps to edit excel..??
*
You can try linux spreadsheet program such as Open Office which has been ported to Maemo.
There are plenty of program available in repos.

it's true..i've seen 4 N8 users simultaneously in one utama NCC last friday..i was there to send my N900..one of them said that there's a problem with the display..and one of em said about speakers..

owh super_evil_alien..i read the FP about flashing method..i thought we shouldn't boot in between flashing firmware and emmc?if u want to flash both, the flashing firmware part shouldn't include the -R,eg: flasher-3.5.exe -F firmware.bin -f (enter)

then only include the -R at the end of emmc flashing command : eg - flasher-3.5.exe -F emmc.bin -f -R
*
Noted.Will update tomorrow morning.

yeah, minisd is hard to come by....

the question is... does your n810 support minisd or minisdhc ?

if it supports minisdhc... i guess u can pop in a 32gb microsdhc into minisdhc converter and use it...

Anyway the FP manual flashing method is updated.Blame the forum's image limitation for the lack of pictures in "Manual Update B"

Mmmm, female 2 female. Lol, that aside, I think I'll need one of those too soon. And alien bro, do you have spare host/ OTG cables?

@jananan: Yeah it supports microsdhc cards, problem here is finding retail packs of those cards with bundled minisd adaptors. Has anyone seen Sandisk or Kingston 8-16GB cards that come with minisd adaptors these days? Malas to go buy from the net really.

And bro, have you tried using a 2.5 ext hdd with an external battery pack using a split usb wire (like the one that comes with older 2.5 inch enclosures. MIGHT work, but I'm not really sure.

I'm using the standard CA-101 data cable provided with N900 & chapalang female 2 female to power up my OTG.
Too bad I don't have spare.
If I'm not mistaken there are some selling the CA-101 cable for a cheap price at garage sale.

hi super_evil_alien..i think it should be more noob friendly if you could add

MANUAL FLASHING METHOD A - FLASHING THE FIRMWARE(FIASCO) ONLY

and

MANUAL FLASHING METHOD B - FLASHING BOTH THE FIRMWARE(FIASCO) AND INTERNAL MEMORY/EMMC 32GB(vanilla)

this is to avoid confusing among new-comers on which one to choose..if they intend to flash only the firmware, afraid they'll chose method b..which will wipe away the internal memory too.. brows.gif brows.gif

Nokia #N8's CA-157 also works as USB OTG cable for the aging #N810 - gbraad

Taken from: http://identi.ca/notice/57178054

MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. My searches have borne fruit!

Now to score myself some CA-157 cables when the cheaper imitations come in.

Either that or a Micro-USB-A to USB cable + female2female adaptor.

Hell I didn't notice this when Aspire posted that picture of the N8 port a few pages back. Time to jack some pendrives, USB-VGA adaptors, DACs and other crap onto my NIT - after having figured out how to hack a USB-hub to use an external battery pack for power.
