i also have this problem,before this i managed to install preenv,but fapman's log asked to type 'apt-get f install' if i wanna install an application(forgot what name)...and it removed preenv,now i cant install back

should choose mpeg-4 or h.264/avc ?

its .mp4 format encoded in h.263

h.264 will work only if u set the audio quality to medium.

Remember the resolution if its higher than the phone resolution wont work in the Nokia N900

it doesn't matter what codec/container you use...the video resolution is the one that matters...the ideal resolutionfor N900 is 480 or lower...anything higher the framerate is bad...
