Yeah, sadly they're overpriced here. I can understand the amount of unit MSI is selling here hence some models do not make it and other retailers would take advantage by putting cut throat prices. I'm not too sure about what brand of SSD it comes with. I'll let you know when I do get it. Yeah the warranty's gonna be something I have to live with but so far I hear MSI is doing great on providing services. So shouldn't be a problem hopefully.

@viruz019 Good Luck on your new shop. Am gonna be regular but must give discount kay?.

Like that wait very long wor.. every few months got new card. Cannot tahan eh. What if suddenly there's news that they are including SLI?
*
IF i got open, it's just a business proposition my friend brought up to me..hahaha..im guessing it wud be pretty expensive to open up a pc shop..still tinkin biggrin.gif

hahaha..tat is true..n if new cards i reli don mind..since i can wait..but the most tempting part is..when they come out with new card and they put it into a NEW pc..nw tat is tempting..
this is what's happening now..i jz got my gx660r not even a year..then i tot im gonna be very satisfied..they come out with new gc im still not tempted to get it..then MSI intro GT780..the poison begins dry.gif

I thought you study game design??Not going to work in that field first before opening a shop???Oh ya when open and get MSI right try to get MSI to offer all those privileges they given to US people at here so that MSI brand will be famous at here smile.gif and cheap because many people will buy.And can i get any advantages if i buy MSI laptop in your shop XD
*
U noe most people study in a particular field and end up doing another thing? tongue.gif..well im one of those guys..but then i will be working part time for creating a game..

actually, i think you guys have read it before but just incase for some of you who left it out..

MSI-MY did mention why their stuff is expensive..reason is because when they bring in stock for the gt683 and gt780..they brng it in a low quantity unlike in US they get it in MASSIVE quantity..thus the price difference..if MSI malaysia sell it at the same price as US, they will be losing money or earning very lil profit..

but no worries, i strongly bliv sooner or later the price for msi laptop will decrease..why? well, based from what im seeing..MSI products especially laptop are starting to get well known in malaysia..so sooner or later, they are gonna get high demands thus they will bring in more products leading to decrease in prices on their product since they save more on shipping tongue.gif..let's just hope my theory is right biggrin.gif

Viruz, if we go to your shop in the future, can we get special discounts?  drool.gif  tongue.gif

And lonelywolf90, plzzz don't tempt me into doing something stupid, like forking over another few thousand RM for no reason, GT780DXR is toxic enough by itself already...  biggrin.gif
*
hahahah, IF i get to open sure sure..anything for a forumer fren tongue.gif

i wonder how much it will take to set up the the shop..my fren told me 150k O.O..but when i calculate everything , rent for the store + minor renovation and furnitures wont cost much..i think biggest problem lies in the parts? hmm.gif

If i purchase my laptop from GenTech Pc.. count in USD?
*
yeap USD..you can use www.xe.com to check the current conversion..i think thats what gentech do as well..and they charge a standard USD129 for shipping no matter how big is ur laptop

and also, no worries for the taxes in malaysia as there is no tax..u can safely shop with gentechpc wink.gif

actually...

there's a way to move spaces in D: to C: using MiniPartition Tools..

i tried it before to shift some space from my C: to D:..but what i read from somewhere is, this method is not that good for the hard disk..since you're doing it inside Windows itself.

Hmm fr the GT683 u have to ask the owners regarding the specs

but if u wanna know bout the build quality and all, well it's similar to my gx660r and i can tell you this. it's perfect.

the dynaudio speaker are superb..i tried out the dell JBL and Asus B&O..the dynaudio is still far more superior wink.gif

thank you. I hope my baby came to me safe & sound.
LoL~ I'm in East Malaysia. Don't have any chance yet to fly across South China Sea.
*
No worries, KenLee are very reputable seller, your baby will definitely reach you safely wink.gif. Just count the days and track the shipping from their website. Estimated about 7~10 days, if Pos Malaysia have not called you to collect your parcel. Call them! else you will have to wait for a really long time.

Something bout what happen to mine:

I bought 2x GX660r when it's release, i counted about 10 days and yet no call from Pos Malaysia *as the UPS Tracking stated that they have delivered to Malaysia and cleared custom*. Then i call Pos Malaysia then found out it's already there and requested them to send to the closest outlet to me but they say have to wait for approval blablabla..so i immedietly drive there to collect it. When i reach, they notify me that there's only one that had arrived and the other one they had no idea. *as kenlee do a seperate shipping for them*

Went back, check out the other parcel and it states had already arrive, next day give them a call again, then they say arrived a few days ago. So i'll say they are not very reliable

Anyway! back to topic! ckyned. You're from Sarawak? tongue.gif my hometown/country is at Brunei brows.gif.. wonder how many users are from Borneo, probably can organize an event tongue.gif

If we collect ourselves, Pos Msia will not charge rm50? Kinda confused right now.  rclxub.gif  Somes said the parcel will be held @ Kastam.
Yes, lives in Sibu right now, but not sure about 1-2months after this cause I will be posting out.  doh.gif
Sure can organize if got free time.  nod.gif

FYI, I came to this MSI after changed my mind for Asus G74SX. Doing a month surfing before final decission. The main concern is about customer service & support.  unsure.gif As many said they're not very happy with Asus'.
*
rm50? O.O why wud they charge u rm50? they already got $$ from UPS when it reach here isnt it?

and it will be stuck at pos Malaysia as they need to check what is inside it..after that they will let u go

ooo..but i heard Asus warranty and customer service is great isnt it? O.O..but i can assure u, anything happen just contact msi-my in LYN and i can personally guarantee you will like their customer service tongue.gif

@razorboy: You pluck in ur battery + play ur laptop? if ur at home and gona leave ur laptop on for a long time, take out battery..overcharge or constant charge is not good for the battery..it will degrade the battery thus performing weaker..

M14x's GT555M is 144SP/192-bit DDR3, while the GE620DX's GT555M is 144SP/128-bit DDR3
GT555M has a lot of variants,
The Lenovo Y570's GT555M is 96SP/128-bit GDDR5,
Asus N45SF/Asus N55SF/Sager NP5165's GT555M is 144SP/128-bit DDR3,
MSI GX780 using GT555M 144SP/128-bit GDDR5..

The GT780 is the one with GTX560 right? or the GTX570? anyone, i think someone here already got his GX780, we will just wait for him to answer you as user experience is far superior than just reading what the internet says

Thinking of getting this model . Do you guys think it will  support CoD MW3 or BF 3 , i only put high settings in texture , bullet impact ..things like shadow - off AA - 2x  . One more things , im afraid of this laptop getting too hot and will pop * overheat so far never experienced that on my vaio . BTW is there any laptop with gpu ddr5 within rm3.5k

Erm, excuse me sir..but what does MSI Gaming Notebook thread has anything to do with HP DV6? rclxub.gif

QUOTE(noob4life @ Sep 11 2011, 12:53 AM)
Eh whats the price of the GX680 in Malaysia? They don't seem to have it in Gen Tech...
*
The GX680 is no longer available as it is being replaced by GT683 which is slightly more powerful with better g/c

Local market will be quite expensive but there are reason why they set it so high up. It comes with 12gb (or was it 16gb i forget) rams, 500gb HDD + 120GB SSD, blu-ray drive.

@Reizz,

for the network card, i can't say much as i never try em..but i bliv the standard wifi network card is good enough smile.gif

as for buying it, well xoticpc is the same as gentechpc..but i prefer gentechpc due to their better services.

first, contact them..look for Ken as he is specialize in shipping to asia market. after everything is done, he will give u their acc number. then use any local banks to transfer the money via Wire Transfer. Most of them did theirs through Maybank, just go to the counter and ask to transfer to that account.

Another important note, make sure u Wire transfer to the correct acc, if u transfer wrong, there's no taking back your money.

GentechPC charge a flat rate of USD129 for ALL laptop for shipping regardless of size of weight, u might save a little there compare to xoticpc smile.gif
